hey all, i received this in email today at work.
i always find these remember things funny, 70's or 80's.... but as i was reading this list, it got me thinking about some of the things i don't truly remember (okay, i remember but they were no-no's) because of my jw enforced childhood.
so here's the list with some of my comments:.
Hey closer2fine,
Back here in New England we used to pull up our white ankle socks over our jeans. I don't know how that ever got started, we thought we looked fantastic.

How could I forget designer jeans?
-Calvin Klein
-Guess
-Sergio Taschini
-Jordasche
Of course, they had to fit nice and tight, too.

How about black leather mini-skirts?
I had one that I was only allowed to wear in high school. I wore it with a red V-neck sweater backwards. Black lace stockings and black high pumps. Of course, I could never wear it to the Kingdom Hall!
it gives the impression of mother nature taking a bow in unison to all man-kind.. may take a minute to load.
hope you enjoy it.. took it with a digital camera, and digital simply cannot capture the true beauty of anything.......
Nice photo! Reminds me of when I took a photo of a huge tree, the day after an ice storm in New England. I took a piece of clear blue plastic and put it in front of the lens. All the ice and snow in the picture had a nice, soft, blue haze to it. All I use is a disposable camera.

may you find the needed strength and courage to get you through any difficult situation, which may arise.
my heart and prayers go out to each of you.. i can't imagine the hardships you are enduring.
please know, that each of you are making a difference in upholding our freedom and justice.
Thanks outnfree! As a witness, I was always reminded how bad the military promotes war...etc. I had never written to a Serviceperson before.
This year, is the year of many "firsts" for me. I wanted to do something, like write the above letter to the troops, or to anyone who wanted to listen. I thought the letter could be applied to this message board, too.
My brother, belongs to a volunteer Search and Rescue division of the Airforce. (When a plane goes down, there are actually volunteers to help locate survivors.) Although, he is not overseas, I was motivated to do something. I hope to continue writing to the troops, all year long.
Peace,

waiting for the demise of the watchtower society?.
don't hold your breath.. even if it collapsed tomorrow, its followers would simply find something else to follow, because, they are followers.. the enemy of life and happiness is the inability to freely live and be happy.. we see clearly, that many of our friends here are still struggling with unhappiness and depression, including myself at times, even years after not being witnesses.. some look to their years of being witnesses as the reason for their unhappiness.
i do not discount these feelings.. however, for myself, i wish to look at the things i can change about myself that will make me happier.. the enemy is the control we allow negative thoughts (including but not exclusive to those we picked up or developed from being witnesses)to have over our lives.. take care.
I love your posts, Joel. What a great pep talk! You need to go tour on the seminar circuit! I would be the first to sign up! (Ha! Ha!)

when i came in here a couple of months ago i didn't see a lot of conflict (a little, not a lot) but i am noticing, as i have in other boards through the years, that the closer we all get to christmas the more people are bickering.
take a moment to think about what may or may not be happening here.. remember that it has been stated that this time of the year is stressful and the most depressing time of year for many.
most suicides occur at this time of year.. most individuals are people that have grown up celebrating holidays, this is a normal thing in their live's......no guilt trips, no trying to hide from family or friends,....etc.
I am releived to hear that you and Joel are both doing well. I reread your original post, Dazed and Confused and I must of missed some points. I think we could all use the many reminders that you had wrote about. I'm sorry, please excuse me for the mix-up.
Tis the Season...to be Jolly....Fa La La La La...

If you want to check out this website, and maybe read and send messages to the troops. The website is:
Here's to the blessings
of the year
Here's to the friends
we hold so dear,
To peace on earth
Both far and near
