  Yes indeed -- he was inside, active, and so useful and insightful to us all. It was well argued and presented with a great radio voice, pleasant and interesting.
  You're right Blondie, the video podcasts are still on iTunes, for free. What a shame that he had personal problems. I hope he's all right. I'm waiting for his return with impatience. :)

  it was given by david splane, a gb member.. the talk is really interesting as it gives a more focused look at the troubles the society is facing as it trys to cope with education, peer pressure etc.. .

  I know him, as he was our Circuit Overseer, in Hawkesbury Canada. The congregation usually found him a little pompous, but he was pretty playful back then. We used to play "Spoons" and usually had a good laugh. He was a pretty sore loser though! LOL!
  
  But there was something about him that I didn't like, My parents looked at him as if he had angel wings. His prayers were theatrical, and only swooned those more gullible. My parents had tears when he prayed - while I remember thinking that it was all a show. Maybe he WAS sincere... how do I know. But that's not the feeling I had.
  
  Anyway, I remember him very well. When I hear his talks now, he seems to be even more self-rightoues than I remember though. A character traite maybe... but his talks are destructive to anyone with a weak spirit. His discourse on education is horrid and should be ignored totally.
  I also caught him more than once 'mine-quoting'! I can't believe he gets away with it.
  Funny enough, Lett was our Circuit Overseer in Brooklyn NY.

  david splane is a member of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.. he became a full time minister in september 1963. a graduate of the 42nd class of gilead, the jehovah's witness missionary school, he served as a missionary in senegal, africa, then for 19 years as a travelling overseer in canada.

  he and his wife, linda, have been at bethel (jehovah's witness headquarters) in the united states since 1990, where he has worked in the service and writing departments.

  since 1998, he had been a helper to the writing committee.
