No, they are MP3 files, you are probably clicking on the wrong link. Look closely, the link for the download is in the blue rectangular box that says "Click here to start download from sendspace."
Thank you - I will try again. -

Watchtower's Billion Dollars of Property Cannot Be Sold until Outcome of Conti Appeal
by Dogpatch in30 minutes ago i just got off the phone with some important players in this case, and some things were relayed to me concerning a lot of details of the outcome of the last two days of court.
i am passing this on.
cynthia hampton, one of the main players in the candace conti case (and a close friend of 28 years), just informed me of a further, far more powerful move by the state of california against the watch tower bible and tract society of new york, inc.. by order of the superior court of the state of california - county of alameda (see documents below), until the watch tower's appeal, which won't begin until august 13th and will take up to two years to settle due to due process of law, has forbidden the watch tower to sell any more of its $1 billion in assets in the borough of brooklyn until the appeals case is finished, to assure they won't shelter their monies in the light of this most huge and devastating sexual abuse scandal ever to hit the watch tower society, and perhaps any other single-victim lawsuit.

Can you all imagine; they predicted they would be the last religion to stand firm against the UN decision to obliterate religion... and here they are, brought down for a sex scandal! How ironic... not JUST a sex scandal, but their place in FAVORING sexual abuse. What a downfall! Pathetic.

JW-Media.org - Why isn't there an official statement about the Candace Conti case?
by DT injw-media.org is strangely silent about the candace conti case.
they haven't said anything about it as of the time of this post.. i decided to call the media department at this number (718) 560-5600. i identified myself as a researcher who also has some websites.
i was asked for the web address of my website.

Ah yes -- just saw the WT post on the case:
Some comments...NEW YORK—Jehovah’s Witnesses will appeal the decision of a California jury in a court case involving alleged(Yes, it may have never happened, although their facts were enough to grant a court case, and that the perpetrator committed his sick molesting again on another) acts of child abuse.
The jury rendered a multimillion-dollar damage award to a woman who claimed that she was molested as a child by a member of a local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At trial, the plaintiff claimed that the policies of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society contributed to the alleged abuse. (Indeed, take any Elder's book pre-2000, and it's exactly true; the elders were to 'hush' it. Even today, the elders are asked to contact the WT first!) “We respectfully disagree with the jury’s decision. This is the first time that an organization was found responsible for the alleged misdeeds of a member who held no position of leadership or authority,” states James McCabe, an attorney representing Watchtower in the case. (this REALLY bothers them, while there are enough cases with elders to go around. Such hypocrisy!) “We are very sorry for whatever harm this young lady may have suffered. However, the organization is not responsible. (When one can just be forgiven by the religious leaders if one shows regret - real or fake - as opposed to a real legal investigation, the Society DOES have responsibility.) We now look to the Court of Appeals for a thorough review of this case.”
J. R. Brown, a spokesman at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses, commented: “The fact that Jehovah’s Witnesses abhor child abuse and strive to protect children from such acts is well-known. The individual members of any organization must ultimately bear the responsibility for their own actions, particularly when the acts are so flagrantly against the morals and principles of the organization and society.” (Then don't hide or hush these cases to save your rep.)

THe Society is deep in the scandal, and will do EVERYTHING to keep the flock ignorant of this. They will claim that it's to protect Jehovah's good name. How naive! Jehovah's name is drowning in the mud of all the WT's poliies over the years. All anyone has to do is get an elder's book from the 80's or 90's and clearly see their demand to hush any wrongdoing. The Conti case has them up in arms because it's not about a church leader, but a simple JW. What a slap in the face of all the cases implicating elders, that were hushed, or worse, had the victim disfellowshipped for slander!!! If there was such a character as God, he would be ashamed of their Pharasee ways. Disgusting.

All of this is just the beginning of the end. More airtime will be granted to this subject, and as I have thought for some time now, the WTS will lose big time. Add to that the almost 100 year anniversary of the end and 1914 -- i truly believe the religion as it is now will emplode in the not so distant future. THe 'society' that cried wolf has lost it's credibility.

I feel bad for those who still believe in all these fairy tales... you leave one religion for another? For what? Do like me and just buy your bread and wine and forget Jesus, for Christ's sake! Cheers!

A Question About Shunning
by Adumbra inmuch has been said on what it is like to be shunned but i would like to hear from the other side of the practice: what is it like to shun?.
just to give you my perspective: i was raised a jw, but was never baptized and in fact i was only a real zealout for about 2 years of my life.
for this reason when a friend of mine was disciplined for marijuanna possession it never even occured to me that i should shun him (i visited him the day after it was announced at the meeting to cheer him up).

When I was active, I never EVER shunned anyone. It got me in trouble ever since I was a kid. My usual answer to the warnings of elders was "I talk to my dog, So I have no reason to not talk to a human." And if warned heavily, I would say "disfellowship me then, I know you can... you will make my point!" Having nothing else to reproach me, they would always drop it. I got lucky, I guess.
Only one time did one of my best friends who got disfellowshipped "played the game" and never answered my kindness. Because I loved him, I respected his want for punishment... weird, I know.
I am now a happy atheist, having left all this BS. I faded away, out of sight - hence all my family still treats me with kindness and in the most normal way possible. I'm technically 'inactive'... but soooo far from the madness. -

Is the WTS and the JW's going to collapse in 2014?
by braincleaned intwo years to go, and an embarrassing whole century will have gone by after 1914 -- the date of armageddon.
in no world is that a "short period of time".... .
let's put things in perspective, since the wts claims to be the channel god has choosen.

And think of how it will feel for the average publisher, publishing the "Good News". The good news of what? That Jesus began ruling A CENTURY AGO AND HASN'T DONE ANYTHING?
Indeed. A century is not "a short period of time" in any book, even the Bible. I suspect some noise and complaints in 2 years. It's a feeling - I may indeed eat my words.
