According to this article, shouldn't the refusal of blood = suicide?
by MC RubberMallet inhere is the society's view towards suicide:.
what viewpoint does gods word indicate that christians should have toward suicide?.
jehovah as the source of life has decreed that human life is precious, sacred.

This must be an old article... they have no such judgement on suicide now... I hate their fucking guts... but they have corrected their POV for a while now.

How old does someone have to get, to gain immunity for blood-guilt for being a part of JWs?
by King Solomon inthreads arise were elderly jw's are discussed, and we see thoughts that it's ok to be a jw if it makes them happy, or that it would be cruel to tell them ttatt after having spent their entire lives as a jw.. on the flip-side, other threads discuss teens who commit suicide after their immediate families (including their own grand-parents) shun them, as does everyone else in their kh.
the outrage rises to the point where the tendency is to accuse anyone who's a part of the organization of sharing in the blood-guilt.
that actually makes sense to me: jws claim that even being a cook in the military violates the neutrality principle, since it frees up someone else to carry a weapon; hence being a member of the military in any capacity is sharing in the blood-guilt.

Shunning is a CRIME. there is no little frail old lady that makes me tear up if she has been guilty of following the organisation SHE CHOSE! I survived... and I can hug my kids... others were not so lucky. The WTS is guilty on so many levels, like this and the blood issue... I can't wait for their fall. And by god they will, goddammit.

Huh. Not an easy one.I am totally on board with the comparison between the WTS's military thing, and the fact that we may apply the same for those who by shunning, may have participated in someone's suicide. Um... I ended up attempting suicide.
So I FUCKING KNOW WHAT Guilt these passive bastards have.Good post King Solomon... permit me to calm down. ugh... fucking WT pieces of SHIT. -

WOW NewChapter! Love your story. Kudos to you.
I realize I can't pinpoint when I "knew" there was no god... it's still blurry to me when that happened. I just did... what I do remember clearly, is the day I understood natural selection!
WOW! I was touched by the grace of reason and truth! Incredible feeling... only then I started to look at "apostate" sites, and lo and behold! They weren't trying to get folowers, nor were that angry - but mostly hurt, sad, AND... understood how fucked up the WTS is; daring to place themselves as self-appointed middlemen between Christ and the sheep! Blasphemy at best - making themselves the mediators!!! Unbiblically.
From then on, I was pissed, because my mom and sister still believe their arrogant bullshit.
I hate them.
I hate them because I love the brotherhood... the sheep... the abused. (Although they chose their masters)... -

// The possibility exists, however small, that all 2 billion yrs of evolution could be wiped out by a single cosmological event . . . and, in response to environment, the whole process begins anew. It all looks a bit different when you take yourself out of the equation.
Logical or not . . . that's the best evolution has to offer.//
It's absolutely logical, and there is no reason to think our rather small star, the sun, will last forver. It will do like all the others. We should be happy and grateful for our luck. Live well and love more. -

BTW, I really appreciate the input of everyone on this! Hope more will chime in, on both sides.
Nice place to be! ;) -

King Solomon "thinking atheists believe in nothing" is based on confusing us with nihilists, who believe that life is pointless"
So true that confusion... or rather, willful ignorance.
rip van winkle I don't believe I will ever be an athiest, but then again, I never thought I would be an "apostate".
I agree -- I would have NEVER thought I would leave the WTS - nor God... but when hard evidence hits you, and you are open to be coherant with yourself, it happens naturally. Or not. We are all wonderfully different.May I just say, that when you are hit by the grace of logic and reason linked to reality, the experience is mind boggling!!! A quazi-spiritual moment for me. Science and discovery, the sheer beauty of natural selection, and the realization that "morality" precedes scripture -- its a WOW moment you will never forget.

A JW called me a moron.
by shepherd inwell, i finally got a chance to discuss religion with a jw at the door.
i have been looking forward to it for a long time, now i know what questions to ask that will cause them to eat their reasoning book in panic.
but no, there was no long in depth bible discussion.

I used to live in France, and one day, at a now defunct 'book study', a brother, about 60 years old and overweight, reader at the time, dropped his glasses and yelled a resounding "Shit!" (Fr: Merde!). Total silence, and you could see we were holding back a laugh - but all hell broke loose when he bent over to pick up his glasses and farted - loud one too! I'm serious; we could not stop laughing (there were many kids there too), so the conductor had the wisdom to end the study and call it a night. I'll never forget that... LOL!!!!
