Well, I can respect anyone's beliefs - as long as they are peaceful of course. I understand the urge to defend a King, a God, or any other of the thousands of deities that fill human culture. I too, am a very passionate defenser of my choice of belief. I will strongly defend logic, reason, and hard evidence.
This is why I'm an atheist. This is why I love epistomology. Words. Semantics... I am hungry for accurate knowledge - and of course, the more I know, the more questions. As Socrates put it so well " I know one thing, that I know nothing". Indeed, we all die ignorant of much.
This is why I do not relate to those who are stagnant and still consider a 2,000 year old book to hold the absolute Truth. I would certainly not follow it's 2,000 year old medical advice!But hey, we all have a perspective. What we should question is our vantage point. Nose on the tree - or looking down on the forest? One needs no action - the latter is work.

sabastious, I don't know how much you know EntirelyPossible - but if he/she (sorry, I dunno) is anything like me - the poor and less priviledged are helped. In fact, many of my fellow atheist friends do work hard in soup kitchens and even worldwide. It's because the game is indeed rigged that those who still make it don't forget those with less luck. Atheists don't wait on god(s) - we are usually humanists too. Not all, but many. So I don't negate the good some religions do, but just to be fair, do not assume atheists are not concerned by Humanity.

" undeserved kindness" is a big one for me. If Jah is the Heavely Father, doesn't his children DESERVE his kindness? What kinda crap dad is he anyway???
"Truth" HATE it... misleading to the point of explosion.
"Wait on Jehovah"... yeah, riiiight... 2000 years ain't enough?

Fifth Estate Program in Canada - Former Jehovah's Witness from NH - Whistleblower
by RAYZORBLADE intif21 - had posted about the fifth estate (which was great), but i know most people outside of canada, will be unfamiliar with the show and the cbc.. here is the link to last night's program.
it features a young woman who had faced sexual abuse as a jw, and how little to next to nothing was done.
when she finally had enough ... well, you'll see what happens next.

Can't remember the name, but it shouldn't be too hard to Google for it and find on YouTube. Worth a watch, as he obviously had God in mind when they made the episode.//
GREAT episode! And the kid was scary as hell! Loved it. And yes... YHWH looks like the inspiration. LOL!
