I left for totally other reasons, while the MO is the same; Bible reading and study.
The more I studied my Bible, and read it over and over, the less I found it to make sense.
It was totally off scientifically and morally. Those were essentially the main things. My fall was discovering the horrid character of the Biblical god.
So I lost my faith that way, and was on my way to atheism.
In the process, I did research. I was aghast to find out how the WTS was a cult and even a false prophet to say the least.
Went further, then learned about the policies on everything — not the least on pedophilia.
Since then, my focus changed. I'm an atheist (even anti-theist when it comes to the gods of our cultural folklores), but I now have an axe to grind with the borg, because it has since my conversion ruined my family life for no other reason than they can.

I will admit I didn't read. You MUST be pithy to catch the attention span of online readers. I hope this input helps.

A Question About Shunning
by Adumbra inmuch has been said on what it is like to be shunned but i would like to hear from the other side of the practice: what is it like to shun?.
just to give you my perspective: i was raised a jw, but was never baptized and in fact i was only a real zealout for about 2 years of my life.
for this reason when a friend of mine was disciplined for marijuanna possession it never even occured to me that i should shun him (i visited him the day after it was announced at the meeting to cheer him up).

Food for thought
by braincleaned inwhy is it said that we "inherited" sin?
we all know the old 'dented cake mold' illustration... but it doesn't follow logic.. .
it was obviously not obligatory that we "inherited" sin.

Yes Ricky Gervais did that, and also DarkMatter2525 on YouTube...

Applaud the Blessings?
by braincleaned ini found it interesting that the 2012 service year report showed a global increase of 1.90% while the global demography is growing 1.14% a year.. not something to get too snotty about, in my opinion.. if the jw are blessed with that level of growth, what can be said about the mormon's 2.31% growth the same year?.
or the islam annual growth rate of about 6.40% a year(according to the u.n.)?.
who is god blessing here again?.

I will also say that I get inboxed from faders and DFed ones from all over the world. There is an important defection going on.
Trust me on that one... ESPECIALLY in the more developped countries. It's easy for the Borg to prey on the poor countries, where most don't even have access to the net. -

All I know is that in my last congreagation, at least 5 young adults left and asked me for some advice in the process.
So I think that on the contrary, there are more defecting than we think. And in any case, they need to be balanced out of the annual report. -

The joys of being a JW... sigh.
I'll eventually be turned in. It will be the death of my mom — but that's not their problem. Donkey-holes. -

You mean the Borg's numbers?
I would say so since there is a pretty huge defection at the same time... -

Yet, the R&F nods with glee and applauds what they can.
