science does not use the expression "new light" - it uses the expression "new evidence". The WTS calls new light where hindsight they were wrong, giving them the holy right to change their minds as many times conveniant to them.

New Homo erectus Skull Shakes up Palaeontology
by cofty ina fantastic homo erectus skull has been found in georgia - no not our former colony, the one in asia.. it is one of 5 that have been found at a site in dmanisi, it's the first homo erectus to be found outside of africa and it is in excellent condition.
the fossils are dated at 1.8 million years ago and comparisions of the specimens have thrown doubt over the details of human evolution.. it is possible that species previously named as h rudolfensis , h gautengensis , h ergaster and possibly h habilis were actually all h erectus.
the natural variation withing the species may be greater than thought previously.. the "lumpers" and the "splitters" are going to have plenty to argue about for years to come.. note to creationists - please read the article carefully.

I do appreciate the grouping of us ex-dubs. It means a lot to us all to support each other. We all have our quirks too — I will admit to that.
My real name is Vincent Deporter. I came out of the closet about 5/6 years ago... I'm a professional writer/artist, and worked with DC Comics, Nickelodeon, Simon & Schuster, Scholastic, plus many editors abroad. Google my name... you'll know more about me.
More fame that fortune I fear! LOL!
I have only lately been vocal without a mask this past year, mostly.
I help where I can. This site has been (and is still is) important to me, as it is to so many others.
I hope we can present a united front — all of us. We all have been hurt a varying degrees. I survived suicide by a thread... lost a LOT, as most of us do, leaving this cruel cult. All these sites have one goal, is to help exJWs. Some extend it to all cults out there; some specialize in just the WTS.
This is a family with the same needs and interest. We can be proud of who we are. :) -

Thank you for kindly responding, Simon. I really appreciate it.
I just think there should be no demonizing of points of views, as long as they are respectful. What a shame it would be if any exJW helping site used the WTS's methods of shutting one up, right?
There is room for everyone. I wanted to voice my concerns as honestly as I could. I'm still hurting too… I want to help.
That's all — I love this site, and I hope it's not a place where my POV will be banned, blocked, or deleted. That's the Borg's method. -

New JW Podcast Website (Coming Soon)
by Brother Mike inonce again this is brother mike announcing that i have created plans to create a very small website to host a *live* radio/podcast show every week.
a while back i had the idea and many of you encouraged it and thought it would be a good idea.
for many of those who didn't know i have been in professional broadcast for about 5 years and have multiple websites that i own and maintain with a huge staff, and we created some very popular radio shows.

Pioneer Service School Adjustment for 2014
by bnybyt inthe pioneer service school will now be only one week, monday thru saturday.. it will consist of 40 hours of instruction and illustrations/presentations.. the reasong given is that this will make it more accessible to the pioneers for due to work schedules and for congregations having to sponsor and support the school.. it will make it easier on everyone and those who haven't attended in the last five years may be able to attend this school with the new curriculum.. .
what do you feel would be included in the new curriculum.
probably more worship of the governing body and they don't need two whole weeks to get this across.. .

Everyone has their own opinions on everythng. I have read some pretty nasty posts here against the AAWA... mostly ignorant of the real goals and makings of it. I addressed it once — and figured it was misinformation. No biggie. I love this JWN site... as you know I have spilled my guts here... revealing my stories, fears, and opinions... I went naked.
So I'm very thankful for this site.... VERY thankful.
AAWA has a slightly different agenda, totally neutral on belief or non-belief (I'm an atheist, ex-JW).
It's a very serious attempt to help those lost in either post or pro-JW life. I support them 100%.
These two sites should have some unity, no? There should be no competition, right?
There is nothing wrong with questioning the AAWA nor even this site... but let's be civil aand smart about it.
I'm not a leader at AAWA by the way, just an active supporter. But I will gladly defend their stance if needed.
I'm here. Open. Honest about who I am... -

What's the deal here? How could there possibly be any contradiction between this site and AAWA. I support both — actively.
What's is going on?
