I wanna see that.
But I meant, Seth Andrews — the Thinking Atheist. ;)

Are Faith-based assertions falsifiable?
by braincleaned ini say yes.. common statement from faith: creation proves that god is love.. false.. the circle of life proves the contrary.
love is not the basis for the carnage needed for survival.
any loving creator would have adapted vegetation to fit the needs of all species.. no blood.

It's important for all of us to read the context of any scriptural quote.
Often in the close proximity either before or after the quote lies the full and true intent of the quote.
There is not one instance in the Bible that even hints on animal sin.
In fact, nothing even hints at animals becoming wild only after Adam's sin.
The cycle of life started way before the alleged creation of the first couple, which agrees with archeology.
From Genesis to Revelation sin is solely attached to humanity. -

//And all of nature is subject to the sin and death in it and its flesh.// This is maybe the first time I hear that animals are subject to sin. Interesting... but may I ask where you heard this?
Because as far as I know, jesus did not come to save all nature from sin — just humankind, no?
The full context of Rom. 5:12 is "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one MAN, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all PEOPLE, because all sinned--" -

It was sad actually. It was this guy who had no structure to his beliefs — and I would have let it go had he not been mean and snotty about it.
So I did with the tools I have to spoof his attitude and absurd rationalizations. -

Actually, I don't think nature is repugnant. WAY too harsh of a word!!!
I just think it is cruel by its nature itself.
I had the most wonderful opportunity to live in the mountains for a couple years. I fell in love with the place instantly. The remoteness, the wildness, the mountain sentinels stolidly waging their silent battle with the clouds daily. It is one of the few places on earth where perhaps, nature holds sway over civilization.
I did too. However, a neighbor mother saw her baby be mauled to death by a bear close to where I used to live. The bear was doing nothing wrong in relation to its nature.
So yes — nature is not the reflection of a loving god.
That was my only point in the opening example; that faith (the claim that Creation proves that God is love) was falsifiable by the facts of nature. -

Question: why is the senseless destruction of life so repugnant to us?
Because we, and are children, are also victims of death, pain, and fear.
I would dare say the answer is in your question; senseless destruction IS repugnant. -

A mole within the FDS!
by braincleaned init has been now verified that there was a traitor within the gb!.
an insider had the courage and audacity to verify this, taking the risk of being kicked out of bethel, with a cross carved on his forehead.. it became apparent that all the men of the gb where naturally bald, even when some tried to hide it with a clever and stylistic comb-over.
but there was some suspicion that pierce and losch were not true bald men.

I take your input seriously. I agree that my silliness is not to the taste of everyone here. However in my defense, I have been living off my humor for decades, and I do have more than a few fans if you check my Facebook or just google my name (Vincent Dpeorter).
I made a pretty good living making people laugh — mainly for kids (athough in Europe, I won a rep for adult humor).
But like you say, humor is a personal thing.
Ya can't please everyone. ;)
