this is a tough question, bubblegum, all I know is that since Jehovahs witnesses do not know how to deal with pedophiles without putting children in danger, they need t o modify their actitivies. Internet witnessing perhaps, internet meetings?

by Joe Grundy inno doubt, wtbts ny will appeal this to the best of their ability, and they have almost unlimited financial resources behind them.. i wish i was in a position to fund candace through the appeal, but i'm not, nor i am cognisant with california law or the general fedaral law in us.. but i was a police officer in the uk for 30 years, 10 of that as a commander of a fraud squad, member of the national working group on fraud, europol, etc.
i did spend some time in the us working with fbi on a joint case.. my point is this.
i've read through some of the court papers including depositions and the one that stuck in my mind was the dep taken from the witness who worked in bethel and was asked about 'collated data' re child abusers.

Though this Atty has a huge network of experts, I'm sure any little info is appreciated. Best thing to do is contact the Atty directly if you have any suggestions.
smiddy I understand your zeal and feel the same myself but we need to think carefully before we start contacting the attorney. How many secretaries is he going to need to sift through our well intended suggestions from worldwide? as botr has mentioned they are not looking for new info or more info as the appeal process will be based entirely upon the case papers and legal issues raised therein.
but something constructive that we can do is this
This case will be decided by the CA appellate courts. We could do much to support a national trend, however, by writing letters to the editor, opinion pieces, calling in to topical talk shows, etc. I wonder if the Roman Catholic groups would embrace us since we have common cause -

most reports and letters to and from the society regarding child abuse in congregations are destroyed - this is WT policy.
the comforting fact is that Barbara Anderson is working with Candace's attorney. this gives me confidence that no stone will be left unturned in refuting the society's appeal.

I think that "aggressive" exercise can be a part of recovery from both emotional and physical abuse.
there is one particular exercise - I think it is called the clean and snatch - it almost feels like a boxing move and then the upward thrust seems to convey emphatic victory

an abused victim, a woman or man in a trapped, powerless condition would hopefully get the connection - that's enough for me. Also after JWism, where precise equivalences and meaning are insisted upon, it is wonderful and liberating to approach an issue from disparate angles. In this case and for me what holds the two together is the idea of empowerment.
