It is Thanksgiving...

i'm thankful that my eyes were finally opened and i saw the jw cult for what it really was.

rearding the discussion going on - I understand it as that christians can be informed by the Bible but that the Bible is not viewed as the final authority.

soft+gentle - No, I'm asking whether you think I have contravened posting guidelines, because that is what YOU appear to be insinuating about my quoted comment whilst evidently lacking the courage to say anything outright...

I was not insinuating that you were contravening posting guidlines but was questioning how your feelings towards the WTS would translate into action. I am all for revolutionary action so long as it is rational and not driven by extremes. Your position regarding the WTS sounds extreme in the post I quoted but you seem to the type of person who can transmute his feelings of revulsion into positive actions that are not extreme - your survey for example.

it is possible to experience more intense and transcendent emotions in an atheistic life without a belief in God. An atheist would do this by putting value in work, in love for people, in creativity, in hope, in fate. All these avenues are availabe to the atheist as they are to to those who are not atheists. The great enemy to a spiritual life is reductionism imo and not whether or not one does or does not believe in God.

well, cedars, you have explained your motives very well and if this was desseminated on a large scale it would be viewed as criminal
You'll forgive me if I don't lose too much sleep over how the Society implements its policies towards blocks of flats etc. Knowing what I know now, the preaching work that these people engage in is a pointless endeavor, since it only serves to promote the Watchtower Society and encourage people to enslave themselves and their families to its twisted teachings which are demonstrably false.
