okay - I didn't realise. it is a good topic isn't it. I am curious because what we call paganism appears to have a lot in common with the NT in the developement of focusing on single qualities as personifications but this may be down to intertextuality.

bingo N.Drew I agree. I have a question for those who know their bibles (I don't). Do the hebrew scriptures personify qualities or does God have qualities rather than being them?

my dad recently found out i wasn't coming to meetings and going out in field service.
he found an excuse to get me alone in his car and just lit into me about it.
he said that if i'm not going out in service that i'm not one of jehovah's witnesses and the brothers won't be able to trust me when the time comes to go undercover due to being attacked by the authorities.
definitely like the mafia
Ands its also a nice dramatic story designed to provoke anxiety, that when the time comes to go undercover no one will be able to trust you. Shouldn't they be telling stories that build trust in Jehovah and not in humans?

Most of us have been believers - so we have found what you have found. It is just that atheists are prepared to lose what they had found and gone on to find other things. As jesus said seek and you will find. He didn't say seek find and keep - at least I don't think he did - but if I remember correctly he did say keep on seeking (wibble)

circle and sphere don't mean the same thing. Most ancients when they referred to the earth as a circle meant disc - whilst the sky formed an oven like or tentlike dome/structure.
