Came to Canada at 19yrs old- after marrying a Canadian Soldier( War Bride) we had lost a baby from the bombing in England( Buzz bomb)
came with a new babe 6months old-(found out my husband who had been demobbed 9 months earlier & had come back home before I came) -had a severe drinking problem- I attended a United Church because I was with no friends in a French speaking area( Montreal) But they said women had to wear hats,( by this time I had 3 kids living ) bible
illiterate)I couldnt afford a hat.... to poor.
Then two lovely well dressed young women called- & was giving me the spiel- sounded good, but the POLICE pulled up to arrested them I offered them to come in-but they said No-The bible had told them they would be persecuted... When they called back a few months later I was ready for these poor souls-Took them in & you know the rest!!!I LOVED
being a JW-Made 10 people JW. ( stop the stoning)Until they kicked me out because I said I didnt believe Jesus came in 1914. I wanted to die!!Thank God some loving Christians from 3 differant churches- came to help me- went to BRCI- an EX JW group)couldnt get it out of my head, went to Pennsylvania -listened to ex JW give their testimony-KNEW the faithful & discreet slave was the artful & dispicable BOSS.Am Free AINT LIFE GRAND!!!!!!
& Love it

David Reed & Penni his wife are free-from reading the picketers signs- it said "READ YOUR BIBLE NOT THE WATCHTOWER-" she said to David" we do read our Bible"- Went at it more than the watchtower( reading the bible) Found the real TRUTH in doing so. Have you any idea how many Jehovahs Witnesses has been set free from David Reed?? I am sure they are in the HUNDREDS

Part 8: Defining Moment - visit with Ray Franz
by Amazing ini asked jesus to help me be just a christian, and no more religion in my life.
when he answered, i told him who i was, and that i just sent off a letter ... but i wanted to talk to him to see if he might be available on the weekend i was there.
ray would not hear of it, and asked me to stay at his home for the weekend with he and his wife.

Ex-JW fundraising ideas
by Mindchild inin chat tonight, i enjoyed the opportunity to talk to someone here who is actively involved in doing fund raising for different ex-dub projects and organizations.
i thought that was really a cool thing to do and wanted to pass a few thoughts on to you good folks to think favorably in this direction.. im not soliciting for any funds here but rather ideas of how different individuals might raise some capital to donate to the cause they see important.
i know there are many generous people out there and that is all well and good if you have the funds you want to contribute but i was thinking there may be additional ways that we could raise capital for projects without resorting to asking for collections.. some of the time honored ways of doing things like this are bake sales, selling candy, or some other product.
