by ashitaka inmy first reason is the fact that i was being controlled through the jw social structure, and having to fight to do anything....even whether to wear a tie or not.
the preoccupation with appearance was so debilitating; that was all i was ever concerned with.
and, as i'm not attractive, good in sports, or a conformist, i had very few friends.

baptized at 14. pioneered after high school and was accepted to bethel when i was 19. got booted from bethel on my 21st b-day because someone exposed me for underage drinking prior to my 21st b-day.
after i left bethel, nothing was ever the same, and my eyes began to be opened and i started seeing more clearly.

The only sad thing is -if your Mum is a devote JW- I think she will cut you off . So many in this group have been dumped by parents- wives- hubbys- kids- So why not just keep on a friendly basis as long as poss- just dont attend- Tell Mum - I love you- & I think God loves me- so I will keep it in Prayer Mum who knows what will happen.

Running into JWS
by WildTurkey ini ran into a jw couple last night at wal-mart, when i saw them i thought damn, i wish i would have seen them before they saw me.
but anyway we talked for a few minutes, and i was trying real hard to think of a reason to get out of there.
as i talked to him, i could tell he was dying to ask me, why i stopped going to the kingdom hall.

How have u dealt with friends, family after leavin
by Leander ini made a effort to break free a few months back and it was extremely difficult.
my wife brokedown crying at the meetings, which triggered the elders and her family (my inlaws) to begin a campaign to win me back.
whats worse is that most of my friends and my family still don't know about that incident, so i know when i make the decision to move on that once everyone else knows it will be probably unbearable.

No body spoke to me again- told various lies about me-( to people whos doors they called on)said I went off my mind when my hubby died-
said I was rushing ahead of JAH-I was a liar- etc:etc: etc:
but when one of my daughters who had left the BORG to marry an unbeliever- had breast cancer & was dying- they all started writing to her to get "back into the Ark" she was so happy to write them & tell them the REAL truth- but never heard from them again...
My daughter does e-mail me once in awhile now (she is a JW-) but didnt speak to me for ten years.If you dont want to be gossiped about if you write a letter of DA tell them you will sue- another friend did that - they nod to her in the Street now. -

how many of you guys/gals has this happened to?.
i think i'm going to answer the door naked the next time some witness sisters show up at my front door....lol i can't wait.

In Montreal I knocked at a door- the guy came naked- he was smirking so I knew he was doing it on purpose- so I just said" Oh I have one of them at home- but would you like one of these." he roared....He took the mags....
Another time a woman shouted "You Stink" I said "Its a good job I didnt take my shoes off-you would really be right" Never did understand why she slammed the door? -

if any of you come back with the ol - the jw's are full of bitter, twisted, people (in the most stupid arse voice of course!
), i'll reply, yeah, but not as rampant as the rest of the world.....call me crazy if you like, i don't care, because it's my salvation i'm worried about not yours....you've thrown it away because you can't see the bigger picture....trials and tribulation will always abound in this day and age...it is proving like job that we are not discouraged by the trials that gains us the most happiness because we know the trials won't go on much longer and jah will repay us 100 fold for our pain....that's a damn good reward to me!

i was thinking of this last night....i have never in my life seen a movement so big as the apostates against jw's..... no other religion has displayed this....usually people just quietly leave and get on with their lives and there is no anomosity...even if they have been wronged by their religion.... but with jw's it's different...it's an all out and out attack on anyone and everyone who has something positive to say.... makes me believe the bible and the jw's even more...being here is setting the doubt in my mind right....
