Keep on clicking. They were both amazed at the grandiloquent write up of the newly released brochures on the origin of life released at the 2010 DC. WT's logic in that brochure motivated their attendance.

The world is passing away but He that does the will of God remains forever - 1Jo. 2:17
by mankkeli inthis was taken from the watchtower 1975, august 15. paragraphs 12&13.
12 resources and abilities that we might possess should be used to advance kingdom interests, rather than letting them serve as hindrances in the race for life.
for instance, if you have an extra house, could you sell it and use the money to enter the pioneer service instead of working hard to maintain both houses?

sabastious - When this doomed world passes away, will you not be happy when Jehovah fulfill all his long-awaited promises to failed mankind?. Dont be deceived either by materialistic tendencies nor the desires of people in this Godless world, we are just on the finish line. - WT, 1987 January 15.
hamsterbait - I'm tempting no one. I just feel its cool to display a summer picture.

This was taken from the Watchtower 1975, August 15. Paragraphs 12&13
12 Resources and abilities that we might possess should be used to advance Kingdom interests, rather than letting them serve as hindrances in the race for life. For instance, if you have an extra house, could you sell it and use the money to enter the pioneer service instead of working hard to maintain both houses? If you have retired or will soon retire from secular work, does your heart move you to use the increased freedom for a fuller share in the Kingdom preaching? Even though your resources may be limited, how can they be used best in serving Jehovah?
13 The objective should be to make material things serve us as needed, and not for us to become enslaved to them. If we truly appreciate spiritual values and put our relationship with Jehovah above all else, he will help us to keep running the race with endurance and to gain the prize. The world with its desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life “is passing away . . . but he that does the will of God remains forever.”—1 John 2:15-17.
Very thoughtful isn't it?

Thankful for finding this site & all of you!!!
by discreetslave inat this time last year i was in another deep depression feeling alone & hopeless despite being surrounded by people who said they cared and belonging to a religion that said it could offer mankind the only real hope in life.
it's ironic that i now have more online friends than physical friendships, am no longer a part of that religion & i feel happier than i have in many years.
i'm thankful to have found this website & feeling validated.

Here are some candidate definitions of God.
God is the God of Abraham and the God of the bible. In my opinion, this isn't totally bad and is the one I try to work from.
God is a personal "supernatural" creator of the universe who exists "outside time" and "outside the universe".
God is the first cause. The problem with this is, another
Here are some candidate definitions of "supernatural":
Supernatural means, outside the laws of nature.
- problem how do we know what the laws of nature are and what supernatural effects are
Candidate definitions of "non-material"
-- Not composed of particles (matter) or light energy
- problem what if a new entity is discovered -

How do Jehovahs Witnesses arrive at their explanation of the Bible?
by mankkeli inthis explanation was taken from the reasoning book, page 204.. how do jehovahs witnesses arrive at their explanation of the bible?.
a key factor is that the witnesses really believe that the bible is gods word and that what it contains is there for our instruction.

james_woods - JWN does have a doctrine, Most oy of my posts have been deleted several times without a single explanation from the moderator, JWN has 11 posting guidelines and threads are closely being monitored to clamp down on violators. So, I disagree with you.
Ucantnome - My heart goes out to those who lost their relatives. But note this, No doctor would provide 100% assurance of survival to patient even if He/She agreed to a transplant, so it is all about a trial and error.
