Oppression of Women
by MrMoe inthis is a bit lengthy, but is a very big issue with me, and that is the issue of women's rights.
i do agree with women allowing their husbands to make a final decision, being on how women think with their hearts and men think with their heads, making choices often times more logical ones.
but, the husband according to god is supposed to love his wife as his own flesh.

Hello! Just got home. Nice to see you all are being nice. What you must understand is, I beleive in God, and I believe he did create women as a help mate and companion to women.
Women are not to be ruled over, but I still believe it is God's purpose for women to allow thier husbands the last word. I did try to leave religion out of this, but I guess I am forced to admit this is the reason for my beleifs.
Do I think women make good leaders? Yes, many would.
Do I think all men think logically? No, I don't.
Do I think women think logically? Yes, I do.
Do I think women are more emotional than men? Yes, I do - A LOT!Hugs and kisses to you all for being polite. Love you all.
I won't be posting until next week. I am going to take a much need vacation to the Florida Keys. I will have plenty of fun. Don't forget about me, OK?

(I am gonna get sooo much crap for this, so fire away, but I know you will all secretly admit I am right)
Would you want the typical female (not your ideal female, typical female) to make a world altering choice if she is on the rag?
I tell you what, I sure as hell would NOT want to make a choice if I was on the rag. I am a bitch when my hormones are raging.
You can now fire away, cause I KNOW I am gonna get some crap for this one. I really don't mean to offend, honest I don't. But would you want Hillary Clinton to be president of the USA, really? Now, Princess Diana, yes, maybe, but she has a record of mental instability as well.
Women are very fragile and everybody better watch out if she is having a bad day or has cramps.
I know many of you are loathing me right now, but deep inside, you know I have a good point.

No - you still don't get where I am coming from or what I am saying. Love would "never make somebody do something they do not want to do."
I want you all to admit it, males/husbands in the houshold usually get their way in serious family matters. We all know this is true in many cases.

OK< PLEASE RE-READ - I totally hate being misunderstood:
"The point is, love is NOT SELFISH - choices are made based upon everyone's feelings and not only the man's."
and
"But, if going truly by the bible - husbands - according to God are to love thier wives as much as themselves. If this was truly the case, every final decision made by a husband would never make thier wives do something they do not want to do."
and this...
"But, the husband according to God is supposed to love his wife as his own flesh. If I love someone as much as I love myself and I was not selfish, then I would never make somebody do something they do not want to do."
I never said you had to feel the way I do. It just so happens that I DO wear the pants in our family. I make ALL of the choices. But, when my husband says that is the way it is, then he is dead serious. And I listen to him.
If you love someone, truly love them, then you are in subjection to them, male and females BOTH.
I have that veiwpoint regarding my husband because I love my husband and I respect him. The same could be said for him. He tells everyone I run the house because I run the house with love. So, he could say "Men should let women make the final choice becasue it is made out of love." Either way, we respect eachother.
Love is not selfish and it is not always my way or the highway - it should never be that way.
Husband are not the "head" of thier wives but they are usually considered the man of the house.

No, I am not warped into a 50's line of thought. I am honest with the laws of nature. Sad to say, but many women are too sensitive to become leaders and make tough choices. Please read this again:
"But, if going truly by the bible - husbands - according to God are to love thier wives as much as themselves. If this was truly the case, every final decision made by a husband would never make thier wives do something they do not want to do."

Ladies, admit it, if your husband says to do it and is a very serious matter, you do it, don't you? And the same with husbands, too.
The point is, love is NOT SELFISH - choices are made based upon everyone's feelings and not only the man's.
In most homes, the husbands control the money, make choices on where to live, how the kids are disciplined, if they can buy that mini-van or not and so on. But, I do know this is not always the case. Not all men are born leaders, some women are born leaders.

Well, I said I agreed with it, that does not mean I always go along with it. If I totally disagree with something or disagree even a little, I won't do it. Peroid. But, if two people want to do 2 different things and they both agree with the other (just prefer htier own ideas) then I am all for a more logical choice, rather than a choice based upon heart.
But, if going truly by the bible - husbands - according to God are to love thier wives as much as themselves. If this was truly the case, every final decision made by a husband would never make thier wives do something they do not want to do.

Allow me to discuss 2 ancient middle eastern religions. Please read this - it is more interesting that you think.
These are the rights of Jewish women and wives: (Quote taken from http://www.jewish-women.com/)
"Jewish women can be discriminated against in marriage and divorce under Jewish law. While ancient Jewish law was designed to protect and support Jewish women, today that same law is being used by some as a tool to deny women their rights to equality in marriage, divorce, and the founding of a family. The Jewish community readily admits that the shameful situation of the agunah, a woman chained to an unwanted or non-existent marriage who cannot be released without her husband’s consent... It is common knowledge that some Jewish husbands withhold their consent to a religious divorce..."
"The 32-year-old woman, who has asked for her name not to be made public, was granted a civil divorce from her husband in 1992. But the man has refused to give her a religious divorce... her marriage is void and any children of a new marriage are illegitimate."
These are the rights of Muslim women and wives: (Quote taken from http://www.mwlusa.org/pub_issues.html)
Family laws pertaining to marriage and divorce... with the rights of the husband superceding those of the wife and... prevent women from being in control of their lives.
Violence against women which occurs in the home, community... claimed by some to be allowed by Islam when it is not.Abuse of certain Islamic practices that affect women negatively, such as polygamy and temporary marriage, when applied out of context...
Excluding women from religious activities such as attendance in the mosque which has clearly been established as the Muslim woman's right.
Failure to promote the importance of a woman's contribution to society beyond child-bearing.
Failure to enable women to take advantage of rights of property ownership and inheritance...Focusing on the behavior of women... subjecting them to harassment, intimidation or discrimination.
Lack of awareness of... men in contributing... in sharing household responsibilities and child-rearing...
Now, here is my point. Single women are usually not accepted into Bethel. Why? Women are forbidden to give talks. Why? Women cannot conduct a field service meeting. Why? I was told not to pray to my daughter in front of my husband unless I wore a head covering. Why?
OK, I do know why, but I think it is all horse shit. To be blunt, I knew more than half the elders in our hall knew when it came to the doctrines of the watchtower. Many of the pioneers knew 10x's the amount of the elders in our hall, making them fine teachers, yet they were not allowed to speak before men.
Looking back at it all it makes me sick. A young sister left her worldly husband who was emotionally abusive and the elder Gestapo is after her now. HELLO! Is this lame or what? If I went tomorrow to the elders in our hall and told them I was abused and wanted a divorce, you know what they would say? I do. And I know I would be denied to remarry if I fell in love just because he didn't have sexual intercourse with another woman (as in penetration of a woman only.)
Go figure.
