Prelude to a disfellowshipping
by rory-ks ini was 25 years a congregation member; ten years an elder; all told, up to 18 years an appointed man; a decade or so as a full-time minister; assembly speaker, with the pinnacle giving the public discourse at a district convention.. .
i stopped being an active member of the congregation in november 2010, but it had been brewing for several years, with the customary gradual drifting away - all the necessary mental gymnastics as my spiritual views changed and doubts set in; quitting the theocratic ministry school; ceasing to answer; sitting quietly off to the side.
i think the straw that broke the camels back was when family worship inevitably became family worship.

Another belated welcome! You sound very comfortable with what you believe, which is great. I hope that you and your family have lots of happiness.

by MsGrowingGirl20 ini love these people so much!
we had kh cleaning last weekend for the memorial and it felt just like old time and brought back soo many memories...i share my struggles, my joys ...everything with my bros and sis... they are my friends...i really truly do love them...how can i leave?
that feeling just made me feel like abandoning all this reasarch and go on living blindly .

exwhyzee-How horrible for your son, his fiance, you and the rest of your family. What was done to all of you was unconsciencible. It was wonderful that your coworkers were much more 'christian'. I hope that your family has healed from this trauma.

even though it's only the first day i'm already more than sick of it!
this is the first year i am fully mentally awake for the memorial season, and honestly i'm so sick of it all!

That 'work' is what 1/2 of my family is doing on this lovely, sunny, warm spring day. I am enjoying a hot beverage, in my robe, and having a relaxing time, ha ha on them.
OneDay-why don't you just fade, Dear?

A funny thing happened to me yesterday
by JRK ini needed to go under my dresser for a dropped item, and came across my scale.
two things i really don't like are mirrors and scales, so i usually avoid them at all costs.
i decided to step on it for a change.

Well, first thing they will do, is tell them they are immodestly dressed!

I would count the number of sisters wearing hats in each seating section, then total them up. Strange, but then I was bored!

Jw's forcing "niceness" on people
by highdose ini can't go into details but basically having been off the jw radar for years i'm now firmly back on it.
just recently it feels like i can't move without a jw being in the way!
they are trying a tactic with me which i've seen done many many times when i was a jw myself.

Chariklo-I know what you mean, I'm getting love bombed too. People sending cards, sometimes with small 'gifts' in them. The phone calls stopped, since I have been known for years as one who doesn't like to talk on the phone, I was able to avoid the calls that came without much problem. But the cards are still coming, as well as the greetings from various ones at the hall, via my family. I'm not going back either.

itscrap-I too was feed and believed this crap, turned down the idea of college and have accomplished nothing. It is very frustrating now, to be middle age, and trying to figure out what to do with one's self career wise.
