Contacted by Royal Commission today
by umbertoecho infirstly, thank you to anyone who is in support of this rc.
no one has shown anything but great interest and empathy for those who were abused.. i don't know who this simonsays character is though and i find him to be very rude and ignorant.
it takes all kinds to make the world go round i suppose.. today i was contacted by a staff member of the royal commission.

Umbertoecho-Thank you for doing this. It is amazing that a 'worldly' group of people are willing to give a voice to those silenced by the GB. Wishing you the very best.

The Bold face LIE
by dugout inhey yall, this may have been touched on before, but i here a lot about the lies wt has told on this website.
so what are some of the bold outright lies the borg has told, past and present and can you prove it.
for example, at this district assembly they released a video that showed (the trailer) if you married an unbeliever your marriage is not going to work.

I agree. I know several couples in the same situation. The man is 'worldly' and the wife a believer. The husbands treat their wives very, very well. One of the husbands is in tech industry and as a couple they fly out west to an amazing spa for relaxation periodically. He accompanies her to the meetings on occasion. The biggest problem is the wives feeling guilty because the married 'out of the truth'.

How awful! Purposely getting rid of capital so they would not have to report child abuse! It is there in writing as plain as day. Despicable.

JW ended a relationship with me
by V1922 inmy jw boyfriend just ended a year and a half relationship with me.
it came out the blue and i'm deeply hurt by this because we were so compatible.
he did it right before the big annual gathering he is presently attending.

V1922-I am sorry that you are experiencing this pain. The man you were dating was/is not a practicing JW. They are not to date people who are not fellow JW's, and certainly not have sex with them before marriage. He may be a serial dater of non-JW women, knowing that they will 'put out'. Where a practicing, real JW woman wouldn't unless she got carried away in the moment and then would feel tremendous guilt and turn herself in to be judged by the elders in the congregation. She would be facing possible disfellowshipping which would result in total shunning. By all standards, if your boyfriend was a practicing JW he should be disfellowshipped.
If you want to get even with him for being a selfish cad, report him to the elders in his local congregation. That should strike fear into his shallow heart.

Resistance is NOT futile!
by Bonsai inall i want from this life is to be able to wash windows at bethel.. my story.. when i was fresh out of high school and pioneering, i said those exact words to my friends and family.
all i wanted to do was be at the core of the organization where it was the safest.
i gleefully told people that i'd gladly spend the rest of my life washing windows, waiting tables, doing laundry or cleaning bathrooms.

Nice story. Bethel, I've always thought of it as a finishing school for guys. If you have Bethel on your resume as a JW male, you were treated like you were a little better than the average Joe.

JW Broadcasting is dying.
by John Aquila inonce a month about 15 to 20 elderly jw publishers would meet at the kingdom hall and one elder was assigned to set up the system so they could view jw broadcasting.
these publishers were long time pioneers, former elders, and long time publishers who know nothing about computers or the internet.
they are the last batch of those expecting the generation that saw 1914 or understood it--- to not die off.

JohnAquila-Your mom is great! The reasoning you used and the reasoning she used with the other ladies really made a difference. I bet that elder is scrambling to figure out how he is going to feed the pioneers, now that the old reliable sisters have put a stop to the hand-outs.
Isn't it interesting how if you go to a convention, the admonition is to bring a light lunch, yet the pioneer school expects a huge meal?
