  this is a really deep burning topic to me as i'm sure it is to many of you.

  If someone were to hold signs with 'These people protect pedophiles', it would be a good idea to have a list of the public victims, like Conti, and/or the names of the pedophiles, like Kendrick and Lopez and a web address so that those interested could look up the info themselves.

  shunniversary

  as of the first week of february i had my one year shunniversary and i'm just now getting around to commemorating it and what better way to do that than share my story here.. im a fourth generation jdub.

  my greatgrandparents learned the "truth" on their farm back east somewhere and now here i am with a whole lot of jw indoctrination and a huge jw family.. i first began to wake up in november 2011 when the two part series came out in the watchtower on the discrepancy of the destruction of jerusalem dates.

  my husband, bless him, had said to me a couple months prior that he wanted to start taking a closer look at the 1914 doctrine because some of the dating calculations didn't seem right ( he's a total numbers guy and is extremely good at math) so when these two part articles came out the timing was just amazing and helped us to start seeing the holes in the societies reasoning.

  Question-I love that you have a 'Shunniversary', talk about making a positive out of what is supposed to be a negative! Wouldn't it be great to mail invitations out to all your family, asking them to celebrate the date with you at some wonderful restaurant?

  "Happy" Bethelite song update

  i spoke to a very reliable source at bethel and got an update on the happy song that they did.

  apparently it was for family night, which is kind of like a talent show they do once a year at bethel.

  Went to a viewing at a Catholic Church...not what I expected

  a child in my daughter's class lost his mother very recently.

  we went to the viewing last night at the local catholic church.

  in the foyer area there was a bulletin board with pamphlets regarding child sex abuse, including by the church, in both english and spanish.

  millie210-You are right, I can't imagine the GB allowing child abuse info to be posted anywhere in the KH. The head in the sand approach is more their style.

  JWdaughter-I've been a few Gothic and Renaissance churches in Germany and Austria...they were stunningly beautiful and gaudy. I loved them! I wanted to go into every old church I came across, but the JW relatives wouldn't, they felt very uncomfortable.
