Suppose a man born blind, and now adult, and taught by his touch to distinguish between a cube and a sphere of the same metal, and neighly of the same bigness, so as to tell, when he felt one and the other, which is the cube, which the sphere. Suppose then the cube and sphere placed on a table, and the blind man be made to see: quaere, whether by his sight, before he touched them, he could now distinguish and tell which is the globe, which the cube?

i have been trying to figure out the title and singer of song i heard on the radio a few years ago.

all i remember about the lyrics is that a guy is in a record store and runs into an old girlfriend they go into a cafe and talk about all kinds of things (it's snowing outside) when they finally go their seperate ways the snow turns into rain.

does this sound familiar to anyone it has driven me nuts.

this is sort of a continuation of threads on dubs and how they are conditioned to discipline their children.

someone questioned whether the society actually encouraged dubs to whup their children.

i only had enough time to dig up a few salient quotes from the wt magazine.

Frelimo protected Jehovah's Witnesses

maputo (aim) - mozambican president joaquim chissano said in maputo, on tuesday, that the state and the various religions in the country are now definitely reconciled.. speaking to members of the jehovah's witnesses sect, chissano recalled that at different moments in history, across the world, states and churches have clashed in various ways.. "in mozambique it was the same", he admitted, referring to the period immediately following the country's independence, when jehovah's witnesses were accused of counter-revolutionary behaviour, and compulsorily evacuated from maputo to northern mozambique.. this was a break with the practices of the liberation war.

chissano recalled that during the struggle for independence, the liberation movement, frelimo, protected jehovah's witnesses.. (aim).
