if you are seeing this why not just get out? you think god appoints the scum of the earth to do his work? that's what they say, appointments are made by god...so....yea ....let that sink in for a bit. i might be able to buy into it a little bit, if the ogranization had no official status appointments (ie. elder/co etc) "the rocks will cry out" not "the rocks will be appointed as the spiritual leaders". but once we get to god makes all appointments, i think we realize what we are dealing with here beyond a shadow of a doubt.
the scum of the earth. yes any man that beats up his wife and or kids and lords over them like a tyrant...is scum. the mafia doesn't even behave this way in most cases. atleast the old mafia.

Identifying God and true religion
by Terry inthere is no doctrine required for kindness.. you can't get it "wrong".
there is no judgement.. there is nothing to memorize when putting your hand out to a suffering person.
the human touch on a fevered brow and the comforting squeeze of the hand is irrefutable.. you don't have to graduate from a seminary to offer a smile and ask somebody how they are---how they really are.. there are no grounds for debate or rebuttal in visiting the ill, the dying, the widowed or the orphaned.. .

terry you made me think
i guess i was a maverick. i actually cared about people, never saw it as us vs. them. like i said, i guess i really was an apostate all along. i was an apostate because i actually did care, and refused the idea of us vs. them. fortunately this is one of the reasons it's easy for me to re-integrate. because people know me as me, not some zombified person that needs to refute everything based off wt logic. i've already gone to one of my calls and told them what's up. he really didn't even really blink....he knew whenever i talked to him, i was interested in talking to him, not because i was trying to count hours. he just basically said he had known they were corrupt, but i guess he didn't mind talking to me about it since i wasn't like in your face, i just talked about it conversationally.
although i doubt i'll be singing to anyone, i dont mind holding out a helping hand though. i remember the images you speak of, my grandmother went senile when i was very young, and we would go see her at the nursing home. same scenery. atleast we have drugs to give to these people, so they can be on the moon while all this is happening to them.

the afore mentioned advice is good advice. let them delete you (that will atleast give the situation pause, since they feel they have taken a major step) - so it will give you a buffer to just let the whole situation die peacefully. (you'd think this is what they would want also seeing they follow "the prince of peace" ...but it's not. what they want is to drop all their anger and aggression in a few controlled sentences at you, so you feel like scum. and so you know you are wrong, and they know they are right.) sounds exactly like people who are following truth doesn't it? how do i change my avatar?

any aggressive speak like that is seen as apostate. you could be telling them that they are wrong about water being wet, sky being blue, sun is hot? wouldn't matter. and yea i know if you try to speak it in a way that is nice, then you are just asking to be put in a submissive position and talked down to in a condescending way.

how prevalent do you think this attitude is?
by cptkirk inpeople in congregations around the country (world - i have no idea what goes on in other countries with the jws) staying in the borg for all kinds of backwards reasons?
how prevalent %% wise do you think this is?
for example people manifesting "fear of man", fear of being ridiculed by members for leaving, or family reasons, or just to much stock in the organization to take the loss connected with leaving....all of whom really no longer believe the faith the way it's presented?

yea obviously cant know for sure, but if you've had a lot of exposure to them and their thoughts...you can basically do what the pollsters do. put your finger to the wind, get an idea, then use various math principles to figure out the rest...and hopefully come within something +/- 10%.
i really believe it's a high number. just consider the fact that the bulk of witnesses are what? about 50+ years of age? (im totally guessing)...so for arguments sake say 75% of the witnesses are 50+. the younger people arent as superstitious, or bound by tradition..and ofcourse have much less aversion to looking up facts for themselves. and ofcourse there are far fewer of them. once you're 50+ i'd imagine the notion of holding on for backwards reasons gets much higher also. and also the harder it is to leave and start over once your 50+. if we had solid numbers to go by, setting up an equation probably wouldn't be to hard. but with the afore mentioned data alone..i'd say it's high like 50%.

yea unfortunately that "where else you gonna go" kept me around probably a bit longer than i otherwise would have stayed. but i would force myself to reason things in a skewed manner, i wouldn't go back to service and secretly not believe what i was doing...."new light" and "wait on jehovah", can keep you trapped on the gerbil wheel indefinitely if you dont take control.

to me this is especially funny right now. (what is that e-witness site anyway? they are pro witness?) but listening to all these possible causes of this woman's behavior. it's giving me a great sense of freedom, knowing i see this all for what it is now....as before where i would try to figure out how this makes sense, and thinking how bad this looks for the team...and how to figure out an explanation that will settle people. they try to set their religion up to sound reasonable, and make it sound like anything abberant has an explanation.... it's just the same as anything though, just a bunch of stupid imperfect people wandering around in the dark. the real problem for the witnesses now is that the world is passing them...in the past the witnesses could claim a sort of superiority because of their strict disciplined behavior, and conservative appearances.....now that the world has structured itself a bit better(obviously with some major issues in select areas), and information is so freely available, the witnesses dont even have even 1 claim to superiority over your average civil worldly person. they are actually behind the average civil worldly person now, it's an amazing shift. but this is an example where you would hear witnesses scoff at people like this, "those poor worldly people, they need the truth". well she apparently has "the truth", now what?
the more i think about it, they probably never even did have superiority as a whole, that was probably something i was just brain-washed with and didn't realize. was like anytime something went wrong in a worldy persons life, it was an immediate reaction, "if they had the truth, they would of avoided that". if she had "the truth" she would of avoided running around wearing a witches hat, while scantily clad in a bikini, while pregnant.
