Saw some JWs this am! Couldn't stop laughing
by Free!! inthis morning on my way to the office i decided to stop at the gas station to get some coffee.... as i am pulling into the parking space i see this woman w a haircut from the 80's the typical below the knee skirt and long sleeve shirt (is a 105 degrees over here in the shadow).... i immediatly knew she was a jw... she had the latest wt in her hands..... she skipped me and approached a group of young mexican laborers that were resting in the back of a truck... but... as soon as i walked out of the gas station... guess who was waiting for me???
the jw!!!
she wanted to do a presentation.. i looked at her and w/o saying a word i started laughing so hard the guys in the truck started laughing as well... she just looked at me and still kept trying to push her literatrash!!

whether you goto them or not, you're giving them a degree of power over your life by just being baptized. my only thought was how do you conform to that society while sort of laughing at the elders at the same time? yea cognitive dissonance.

On A Scale Of 1 to 10 How Much Knowledge Does A Jehovah's Witness Have About Their Religion?
by minimus inyears (many decades) ago, most jws knew what their religion taught.
they could go toe to toe with a minister or priest and make some good points.. i believe today's witness knows little about most of the convoluted teachings and revisions of the "truth".
yesteryear's witnesses got a 9/10.

cant say for sure on a scale. but i can say it's definitely going down not up. one thing that is sort of sad/funny ...is presenting them with the UN info...you watch grown adults go into a kind of denial behavior that you might associate with a scene of children all going to Chuck E Cheese, and the one little girl has to stand outside while all the other kids are having the time of their life, while she watches outside. the kind of pain, denial, and angst....to watch this same behavior in grown men and women when presented with the UN info, is i think a good benchmark on really how low the number actually is.

yea i would reverse your question back on to you. if you're going to do something why not go all the way? i dont understand the mentality of saying ok i'm a jw, but im suspicious of the elders....how does that logic even work? you're taught that they are appointed directly by god himself, thats what they say. so i'm asking you, how does that half assed mentality even work? you are in THE TRUTH (absolutism), listen to our instructions or you are apostate, because this is absolute. so you ignore them? your leaders? and yet stay content that you are in the truth? i may be revealing some horrific character flaw that i possess, but that logic doesn't make sense to me.

many of those sisters are venomous bitches. the org is a fraud. they swear loyality to who? and what does he stand for? honor? the bible says honor is really the only thing that separates man from beast. people from all over the world posting here saying the SAME thing. most of the sisters are desperately in need of psychiatric help at best. at worst they are devoid of all qualities regarding honor. but just keep singin them songs, that'll get you there.
one thing i think when i post here is who is listening. it cracks me up to think of a bunch of elders sitting in a room reading these posts, trying to finger people. trying to follow the dotted lines....my message to you is YOUR RELIGION IS BULLSHIT YOU ARE BRAINWASHED. people coming here from all over the world saying THE SAME THING. i can see the elders trying to put pieces together from posts, "hey this sounds like so and so"..NO IT SOUNDS LIKE EVERYONE, YOUR RELIGION IS SHIT.

Coworker and JW's
by sinis inso i am talking religion to my coworker and freely admit i used to be a jw.
he said thats interesting my wife grew up with some, and they are a weird set of people.
i agreed, explained about the holidays, which he knew and called it a day.
