I think people generally know that Jdubs aren't overall into gun ownership, and as long as that is the case, there are just too many other fish to fry, for now. Their anti violence and general anti gun stance will keep them from being technically defined as a cult, even though they are. it would be clear that there was too much personal animus if they were "technically defined" as such, at this point in time. be careful not to hand your enemies leverage against you by over-stepping. I can cut down the biggest jdubs right now like minced meat, why? because we are on the defensive and they are the aggressor....as long as that angle is secure, they fall like dead wood. if the balance gets pushed too hard at the wrong time, then leverage can be lost.

Should Jehovah's Witnesses be added to the Wikipedia article on Doomsday Cults?
by jwfacts inthere is discussion of doomsday cults at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/doomsday_cult, and much of it aligns closely with watchtower predictions and behaviour, so i was wondering why jehovah's witnesses are not mentioned.
here are some quotes from the article:.
doomsday cult is an expression used to describe groups who believe in apocalypticism and millenarianism, and can refer both to groups that prophesy catastrophe and destruction, and to those that attempt to bring it about.

Was jehovah/yahweh/god the first to commit an abortion?!
by OneDayillBeFree injust caught this in today's watchtower!
while the wtb&ts is going on about all of david's sins and how god was being a "god of love" and showing forgiveness to his servants, (keyword: his= only jehovah's witnesses) i decided to go ahead and start reading the whole story about what really happened.
so then i stumbled upon 2 samuel 12:15&18 .

I never really got the whole "you reap what you sow" thing, yet if you actually read the bible, it's always the offspring paying the price for the sins of the fathers lol. just make it up as you write it i love it.

The balance of the universe
by cptkirk ini just wanted to put a few minor examples out there of what i was saying about crime (good/bad), balance in the world, and so forth, picking up from the post that i wrote on here a few days ago.. i want to just also say that i am not condoning crime, nor advocating crime or anything of the sort.
i am merely saying let's look at the world, and understand it a little better.. i was just listening to megadeth (former jw dave mustaine lead singer of course)....i love his music, and i think he is really talented.
imagine if no crime had been committed against dave though.

ok let me try one more time to really point out the core of what i'm saying (because there are side points) but the main thing is this: many times as we evolve as humans we go through periods of increased evolution (bursts)....there are many factors that contribute, but one factor is in the way we think.
sometimes we do not realize that we work from a premise (theoretical premise) in our minds of "what if": what if i win the lottery, what if i invent something that changes the world, what if science learns how to stop aging in my life time, we have many what ifs in our mind, and we may not realize it, but they actually shape a good portion of our outlook in general. we think to ourselves based on what if, and we quarterback our lives in a fantasy of what ifs, that actually does effect our mindset, because it gives us deeper vision into life (a way to experience without experiencing).
in this context, what if we do not realize that we make assumptions, and these assumptions guide a lot more of our conscious mind than we think. what if we were to find ourselves in a "new system" only to realize down the line that all we are is a creation of a god who just wants us to boost his ego? do you know anyone that could live with that? is that moral? is it moral to go along with this just so that you can say "well he gave me this or that so..." what does that make us? users? what if your mother told you to worship her, and you lost all natural feeling for her because she became so bizarre? but you were a kid and said well she makes me food and drives me to school so i guess i'll just do this?
if we are to love god in a natural way the same way we love our mothers....don't we have to know him to some extent? does this make the entire world of religion intrinsically immoral? i mean the bible even says who can know the mind of god? (in other words nobody can is what it is saying).
again, it's all theoretical, it's saying "ok i will believe for a minute and see what happens", and works from that premise.
if you can't know god, yet are required to worship him, is this not innately immoral?

want to stress the fact that i'm not looking at this from a moral standpoint. simply a scientific standpoint which sets up the equation and says: here is your impetus for all the greatest things in society, and then on the flip side, god's supposed new world will do away with all of that (or maybe even the infinite agencies on earth now)...so then what is the scientific equation for what happens next? that is fine, you can go swimming and biking and be with your family, there are 8 billion people on earth though......actually there you go, look at some of these really far out there places where people still live in tribes and wear bamboo on their penis and pull their lips down to their naval......is that what we are without the impetus that we have? lol

I am talking about the big picture though, getting back to the real foundation here. all of that stuff you mention is fine and dandy but it's not big picture stuff. it's stuff that takes place once a framework has been implemented and the people then take their places within that framework.
Have you ever heard the dubs say stuff like "I feel guilty for listening to Mozart because that music was made for babylon" or whatever they say? That is really what I'm trying to get at here, the notion that so much of what we enjoy (and this goes for any thriving country not just us here), was derived from the afore mentioned not so pretty things?
believe it or not as much as some of you irk me, i respect your intelligences and views, and to me, i'd like to hear what other people have to say on this, people who have been led to believe xyz. where does society go for arguments sake if we are all of the sudden perfect by a god? our entire lives become worship 24/7 ?

You may well be a rare individual who could go around forever doing these things, but this is not the majority of individuals. It is all about greatness. Whether you are one who is creating greatness, or you are one benefiting from greatness. It is everything. Look at the NFL, how many people that are capable of playing at that level do you think could just say, "I love football, I could just play it for fun forever". Not many. Why? because they need to become great, and in their quest for greatness, we are drawn to watch them every sunday. Otherwise, we would not.
We cannot deny the fact that we are multi-faceted in our phases of consciousness. Sure, we all have one phase that is just happy to be alive, have a beer and play horseshoes. This is only one phase though, and try as we may, we cannot force ourselves to stay in one phase, because it is un-natural. Our phases dictate our desires and actions. Just like the JDUBS are in a phase right now, they are in their mccarthy phase. In time, that phase will end, and a new phase will begin. They will forget the mccarthy phase ever existed, just as most people only give credence to the phase they currently reside in, and in doing so, they lose the ability to see themselves for who they truly are.

The point about crimes against the people (natives if you want) whoever didn't come out on the net positive side.....that is something else, that is a different discussion. it's kind of like, (i know how coarse this sounds)....but it's kind of like an alchemist looking for the recipe for making gold, he fails and fails then finally discovers it. The fact that he wasted a shit load of money and resources isn't the concern, the only concern is that he found the recipe for gold. This analogy is disturbing in that we are talking about human life, but strictly looking at this from a scientific standpoint, the crime=the impetus for greatness, whether there is crime that wipes out entire races is beside the point, the impetus is the only point. Take away the crime, now what is your impetus for all of this incredible creation of naval vessels, the internet, highly esteemed documents for governance, etc. What is the impetus that now creates this? see what i'm saying? love? love is actually kind of lazy. what is the impetus? jumping ahead once again, we have now wiped out crime, let's say even god appears and gives us all eternal life, once we are done being excited about not worrying about death or disease or poverty....once that is gone, we are back to business, and the question is, what is business at that time? what is the impetus for greatness now? it isn't crime, so what then? the glory of a being that is greater than we are, who doesn't want to allow us to just be free and yet still have our invulnerabilities? only to magnify a being and be under his strict control every day forever and ever....i think this is the point on the linear line graph, which can tell us a lot about who we are and what has shaped us, as well as what our ultimate shape will be.

I was just listening to Megadeth (former JW Dave Mustaine lead singer of course)....I love his music, and I think he is really talented. Imagine if no crime had been committed against Dave though. That is an example. Imagine if he had not been spiritually abused by the witnesses. I really doubt he would have become the legend that he did. Sold millions of concert tickets and albums. Stimulated the economy of the music industry etc.
What about our country? think about our country in the same way. Imagine if many of the early crimes had not been committed against us. Would we have built the most legendary naval force in world history? Would we have constructed the brilliant legal documents and constitutional documents? I really doubt it. It was crime that stimulated all of this. Crimes against humanity, crimes against a country, and crimes against individuals.
I know that myself also, if the crimes that had been committed against me were somehow erased, I would not have become what I am (not even close). And this has been good for the economy.
It is a dangerous notion. Some immature minds will grab a'hold of this notion and then justify their evil actions. I want no part of that. Simply raising the point, what happens when the day comes when all of the afore mentioned crimes cease. Because, this has been much of the driving force, this balance of good and bad, crime and justice, war and peace, etc etc.
I think that this is really great food for thought, not necessarily looking back at the cause and effect of historical events, but to look forward, to accept for a moment that everything the bible says is true. And then, to ask yourself, what will life look like in the conditions that the bible foretells.
See, the problem is, many people (most damn near all) think of this new world, this paradise, and it is like the greatest stimulation and euphoria imaginable ....they see their dead loved ones again, no more death or mourning nor outcry, etc etc.
They think of this, but they fail to think, what happens after that wears off? what happens once you get used to the fact that your dead loved ones are back and that you are healthy? then what? forget about how you feel, think about what you are. think about the point of your life etc.
all of this criminal impetus has faded. Our purpose? to worship god, that's it. that is all we are. beings that go through the same motions, god throws a new idea out there, let's you learn about it, go worship him, then start it up again.
This is where the REAL crux of everything begins to illuminate. There is no more free choice. There is nothing except mangifying god. over, and over, and over and over and over and over and over and over....until another satan reveals himself, and then we can start the whole thing up again.
I could type on this subject for days, but all I ask is that you think about this subject matter with clarity, meaning, get rid and get past all of the euphoric notions of no sickness and life forever, the euphoria has now worn off....now what? what is the impetus that drives your life now? what does life look like once all of this euphoria wears off?
this is all of course assuming that you accept the conventional premise of the bible.

Advertising the REAL Jehovah's Witnesses when I can...
by okage intoday, my wife went to labcorp to take a pre-employment drug screening.
she doesnt have a driver's license, so i took her.. in the waiting room, with the magazines were a copy of atalaya (watchtower) and despertad (awake).
it'd be nice to think they were left by a jw who decided then and there that she'd had enough of the lies, but from what i gathered on jwn, it was probably a lazy publisher counting it as perpetual service hours.. anyway, on the back of both, i left the message "for more information about jehovah's witnesses please google candace conti.".

It must have been difficult for you to make this post. It sucks doesn't it? When information was under tight control, it was also so much easier to control people's minds in general. Now, we have all of this information at our fingertips, and *gasp*.....turns out we've been lied to by the people who demanded our *absolute* devotion, demanded our ABSOLUTE submission to every goony doctrine that they decided to enact (men can't wear beards, "levels" of porn, and so on)....I can't even type it with a straight face....levels of porn.....OMG NO SHE IS GOING TO BEND THAT WAY? OH GOD NO! CALL JESUS! CALL THE GOVERNING BODY !QUICK! EXERCISE THE SEX DEMONS!
anyway, I have no good advice for you, but I do appreciate how difficult it must have been for you to type that. what is life? our families, our knowledge, our work.....one thing I would say, as many problems as there are in the world right now...we do live in a privileged time. with the advent of super computers and breakthroughs in the world of science and astronomy, there is plenty of new stuff to learn, and to make good use of.
