they were civil enough for us to put them on the US payroll...."and beyond". operation paperclip. i'm sure there are people who use this operation to formulate all kinds of conspiracies, i'm merely citing it at face value. a program to bring these nazis into the fold.

it's a message board, hard to feed the hungry through a lcd monitor.
the southpark statement was obviously a joke pointing out the vacuum left in terms of teaching some kind of system of humane strength.
i knew whoever rebutted would pull the propaganda shit out...of course i know they made propaganda films, doesn't take away from the fact that they were civil in many cases among themselves, and beyond.
yes you are correct, nobody knows that better than i do....but there are opportunities when self sacrifice can change the lives of many people all at once.

Mentally Diseased
by Mum inapparently (i'm taking others' word for it) the watchtower publications are asserting that "apostates," i.e., those who have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, are "mentally diseased.
" there are some important issues with this assertion.. first, they are not mental health professionals and in no position to diagnose mental illness.
do they believe we all have the same "mental disease," or are there different diagnoses for different people who come to their senses?.

my position on that is: if the inner workings are endemically broken in the way that many would agree they are(honest people?), and people are sustaining real injury because of it (mental/physical/emotional/spiritual), then there is a just cause to debate the points at hand....to what end? i don't know. i do know that in the spirit of Mum's post here (in terms of the angle), I would say, at the VERY LEAST, STOP saying things like elders are "directly appointed by god" or, whatever absolute, you choose one....putting these absolutes in the mind's of people who have basically already signed a contract of humility and service, is in fact unjust,AT THE VERY LEAST stop saying these absolutes that have been completely disproven time and time again, at the very least...to quote bill maher (paraphrasing)...isn't it ok to just say we don't know? isn't that the actual humble thing to do? in some of these cases.

really getting sick of people jumping on tec's case....why were those his priorities? hmm well i dunno maybe because the govt had become tyrannical and he was trying to help people be at ease with their conscience , in that they wouldn't feel guilty in being obedient to the govt up to a point? so they would not be lion fodder? i'm sure tec will discuss her thoughts as long as it is being debated in a civil manner--as soon as you start throwing fire with claims (claims which none of us really can say 100% on because we weren't there watching with popcorn), you become threatening, and why would she want to then engage in a threatening discussion?
our society is headed into the shitter for a reason....science is great and i prefer science, but science doesn't really impel people to be curteous or compassionate. even nazis gave each other the proper respect and were even compassionate people in many cases (to their own) because you aren't going to sustain a society without a degree of humanity....they were known for the brutality that they wrought upon their enemies, but these guys were not just walking around during mundane day to day life kicking each other in the teeth for the hell of it. if you ever watch some old nazi films you will see these people on picnics hugging and kissing each other etc.
we need a hedge against society continuing on the path it is currently on....in many cases, that is a person or group of persons who invoke christ, and do something humble to serve their fellow man....or in a given situation they are the person to turn the other cheek, and this winds up embarrassing the other parties involved because they get a quick reflection into how inappropriate they have been behaving, and it sets things straight for a time.
there are too many examples to list. and with regard to raising kids, when would this be more appropriate? these are the years that they are being molded into the person they will become, you think south park is going to raise a generation of solid citizens?

concerning "the law", and receiving "everlasting life":luke 10:27 says love god and also your neighbor....that is the law of christ....so who is to say anyone here broke that law and is now qualified to be spoken of in the context of the above cited scriptures (from various bibles) in the first place...?

Mum, this is an absolutely excellent post (and I don't think I've ever said that before to anyone). This is exactly the angle that is so powerful, wow, grand slam, just a absolute grand slam. it is like you are saying to them in the most powerful possible way "here jw leaders, let me help you take those blinders off so you can see yourselves objectively"--and saying it in the most humble, lowly minded, innocent, hungry to learn way....this is the most powerful post that i've ever read.

i have family members who are in bands....seems like a different mind-set, and if i had musical abilities, i'd probably have a different mind-set too. stepping away from the mind-set of a musician for a second, i would say that one general rule that i've learned, or at least works well for me is, ride your strong points as hard as you possibly can. whatever it is that you are good at, you should be working to make it better every single day. i think this is one thing that saves us from the kind of moments like you mention, where you feel like you woke up, 10 years went by, and you have nothing to show for it. drilling your strong points every day and building on them constantly is a hedge against this type situation, and of course there are other benefits to thinking this way also.
if the business works, no need to just walk away from it. it is better to hit this type of situation at 34 than it is to hit it at 54...and the fact is, most people do have a circumstance crash into them like this at least once during their life. there are many people out there who wish they had the natural abilities to play guitar; there is no reason that playing guitar needs to be synonymous with being irresponsible.

that is probably why they didn't appoint him, "reasonable / caring" what do you think this is? christianity or something?
billy i think you may have really spoken a true proverb: " Elders are bad, COs are worse. And the stupidity accellerates as you climb the WT ladder."
that is just pure truth. accelerates was the perfect word. all that is needed is a little pictorial from physics class of "elder" with an arrow, then co with the arrow 5x ahead, then d.o. with the arrow 15x ahead and upward. at the end is WT president depicted as pure bliss; the ability to live in an absolutely fantasized world while people throw money at your feet, and no facts any longer matter. you made it kiddo! <friendly fist to jaw of new wt president>

New magazine cover from the religion that calls former believers "mentally diseased"....
by cedars inapparently "prejudice" applies only to racial equality and has nothing to do with diverse sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
it's news to me, but that's the only way i can explain this latest cover from the society.. http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/86/wp_e_20130601.pdf.

celebration of jesus death......
to die in the service of a cause, is an honorable death.
