I'm speed reading through revelation right now...

i'm going to try and catalogue every error in this book, hopefully can be done before the end of the day.

first contradiction in the bible?

contradiction without the use of an outside medium (such as archaeology, fossil study).

i just stumbled on this after reading the thread about adam and the sexual subliminal message.

i was thinking about adam and eve and chronology, and a contradiction popped up in my head...so i picked up the bible and there it is.. gen 1:27 - god creates adam and eve, tells them to be fruitful.. gen 2:18 - now adam is alone?

this is why i love this web page so much.

these ideas that have been in my mind for who knows how long (which i had to suppress) have a venue.. ok if a holodeck is something we humans are probably going to eventually develop.

wouldn't it be safe to say the "god's" probably could make one if they wanted?.

couple directives i noticed before i left some months ago

just remembered a couple directives (informal) they must of been giving to elders before i stopped going, which made me really laugh.. 2 things they were telling them:.

1. watch for people who get "defensive" as a sign they are a problem member.

2. always explain to people that you (the elders) are not psychiatrists (ie.

stop referring to it as "the truth".. "the world" is not going to turn on you because you are all great shining examples of human beings.

if "the world" turns on you, it's because you are a dangerous cult.. taze russell and rutherford were both nuts.

but "the light gets brighter"...the light was already bright, it's called the christian greek scriptures.

how prevalent do you think this attitude is?

people in congregations around the country (world - i have no idea what goes on in other countries with the jws) staying in the borg for all kinds of backwards reasons?

how prevalent %% wise do you think this is?

for example people manifesting "fear of man", fear of being ridiculed by members for leaving, or family reasons, or just to much stock in the organization to take the loss connected with leaving....all of whom really no longer believe the faith the way it's presented?

it was a program apparently discussing the "7 deadly sins" .

they get to sloth, and immediately goto pictures of starving,diseased,dying pictures of africans?

can't believe i actually was buying into this group for as long as i have.

i browsed a few threads on this web page, and saw a few that dealt with how heavy they have been lately on "the enemy within", paraphrasing, whatever....i really think they are actually collapsing, and this kind of notion of "the enemy is everywhere!

" is just a testament to that fact.
