it's the real deal. In the cong I go to I've seen book/ipad covers, tie tacks, lapel pins, stickers, necklaces, earrings.OK, so they are allowed then. Are they officially made by the organization (like all the licensed and official merchandise, for example) or are they home made/sent to third-party company by an individual rank and file members who then share them inside the congregation(s)?

Why do witnesses feel the need to put JW ORG on all their social media sites?
by stuckinarut2 inhave you all noticed the obsession witnesses have of putting jw.org on all their social media sites like facebook, twitter, instagram etc?.
so many put it in their bio section...like some sort of loud proclamation to other witnesses that they are righteous and spreading the message.. it's also very lazy.
now with no personal effort at all, they can just say jw.org and be "witnessing".

Doubtfully Yours: Been asked to display it [JW pin] by family and -- JW friends. Have declined.
Am I missing something? Are they really using pins now, like, officially stated by the Organization somewhere in a meeting or magazine to do this? Or is this some apostate inside joke I'm not in?
I'm asking because the entire year I've seen on different apostate sites that there are images of pins/magnets/key chains/you name it with light blue JW.org square, but thought that the organization can't be doing this for real...
I just saw this link (image in the middle), and I don't know anymore:

Maybe they think/feel that they are being very spiritual by declaring themselves as JW all over the social media?
Some sort of boosting (artificial) happiness by declaring to be part of a bigger group, maybe?

Wow... There More Closet Faders Than I Thought
by pale.emperor inyep, im still fading.
i know it's gonna be a long and meticulous process but so far it's going well.
isnt it funny how when you stop reading the material and stop thinking yourself of being unworthy all the time - eventually you get happier and happier each day and see the world around you the way it is?

I can relate to "still the truth" part. It was months, if not years long process. As you said; I'm also happier and more "normal" than I ever was while being inside.
Probably everyone goes through the questioning of the truth and then either decide to go back or stay out. All the best to you!

You wear tight pants and you will be in trouble
by wannaexit ini was reading in another forum, that a letter to the elders instructed them to speak to anybody who persists in wearing tight pants.
if changes don't happen then the instructions are to disqualify him from being a publisher but it won't be announced to the congregation.
i am am curious to see if this letter will surface.

I agree with TheOldHippie.
I once was discussing with a guy who had sex with someone. He shared his feelings with me after the committee and I asked if he still can go to field service. He looked at me weird but I guess I was right about that it is possible to disqualify you from it despite that I never heard of it before.
Also, I asked an elder once that what is the absolute least thing you need to do to get to the paradise. Guess what he said? Field service.
Makes me wonder how that "tight pants rule" goes along with the fact that if you are with the organization you are saved as they are stating so much. How can you be if you are not allowed to go to field service...

Ideas for cult cart questions.
by aboveusonlysky infeel free to drive on if this subject has been posted before.. the 'bible teach' book is usually always on the cult cart so i thought it could make for an an easy intro for some counter witnessing.. just pick one up and start reading chapter 1, if the dubs are following instructions they will approach you.
chapter 1 is all about how great it is to ask questions, par 3 then says -.
"yet, many people have given up trying to find the answers.

Go to the cart and ask them to open their Bibles at Deuteronomy 4:2 and/or Revelation 22:18, 19. That alone should already be enough for a decent person to understand where you are going with this, but they will play dumb and ask "Yes?". You can then continue that "How does all the publications you have written the past 200 years count as 'not adding anything into the Bible' since within that time your leaders have also made numerous false prophecies (aka adding to what has been written), latest being 1975?"
This one is thanks to my sister about a decade ago, who asked Mormons once that isn't the Book of Mormon adding into the Bible? That made me question the logic in my mind because it made me thinking that how can she say that with a straight face when we have thousands of magazines, books, pamphlets, videos and the entire religion is basically surrounded around 'adding' into the Bible. Maybe I woke up for a moment right there... -
Anyone seen a Heavy Metal band album covers with JW images?
by GrownMidget ini remember long time ago circling through different kinds of "evil apostate" websites and seeing an image somewhere which was an interesting one.
it had two rather unknown metal albums with images taken straight from the watchtower publications and printed on the album cover art / booklet.
both books and albums were put on display to showcase; assuming it was at some bethel.other image had the multiheaded red leopard monster from the revelation book.

Other image had the multiheaded red leopard monster from the Revelation book. The other image was older one having some tribe members ripping or cutting out someone's heart. I saw the photo once and then forgot about it. Now I would like to know if someone has seen it as well? If so, where is the photo located at or what the band names were? I tried to look for some time, but sadly I couldn't find anything related to it. I hope they have not gone into the oblivion for good... -

Are Jehovah's Witnesses marriages even legit?
by Joliette ini ask this because of the circumstances behind why they get married and who they get married by.
i know people say that they are really in love, they love jehovah, etc, but are these marriages even legit.
i've talked to older jw's sister who are now widowed, some of them say that they were trapped in a marriages.

Now that you mentioned it... Everybody I ever was with was always arranging some sort of get together parties with this one brother and sister that had to be together because they were "perfect match". -

Now you don't even have to go to the Kingdom Hall - ALL meetings to be recorded & available on jw.org (if you have a password)
by sir82 inlatest boe letter:.
october 22, 2015. to all bodies of eldersre: use of jw stream.
dear brothers:we are writing to inform you that arrangements are being made for video recordings ofcongregation meetings, circuit assemblies, and conventions to be uploaded to jw stream (accessibleat http://stream.jw.org) in various languages.

Haven't they recorded them always? At least in my congregation they had live line via phone for one person and recorded the meetings that were then shared via USB sticks.
Brain fart idea: could they slowly be going into the direction that Kingdom Halls are no longer needed? No money goes into maintaining and building these and you can donate money directly and automatically from your bank account. Full 24/7 indoctrination mode enabled! -

Dating someone for a few months getting to see someone for a few hours at a time then marrying is taking a huge leap of faith.
I must also add the third-party sister/brother that watches over you at every of these dates - or you have automatically had sex in the eyes of elders. Now that I think about it, it's so ridiculous...
