Larry, I thought we were all squared away on why I answered your post the way I did. Why did you get the impression that I was picking on you? I don't believe I was picking on anyoone here. My comments were very civil compared to many on this board. If you have a problem everytime someone disagrees with you, I will be the first to not to post on your threads in the future. I also don't feel I need to do research on someone just because I decided to post on there thread. Once again, If you felt offended by my comments I will not post to your threads again. I challenge anyone here to check all my posts to your thread, and tell me I was way out of line with what I said.

Those 'Mean' JW's
by Larry inremember when elders took pride in dfing someone - like they got a notch on their judgmental belt of righteousness?.
remember when parents would brag about kicking their kids out if they did want to serve jah or if the kid got dfd and the father didnt want to lose his position in the k-hall and threw the kid out?.
remember when catastrophes would happen to other people/nations and jws would laugh about it and consider it just part of the last days?.

Larry, I haven't heard about that. I would not go to a march at this time, personal reasons.

I realized that others reading my comments may not understand where I am coming from in my responses to this thread. My personal feeling about this "board", is that it predominately reflects ex-witness comments. I automatically assumed ( incorrectly evidently) when I scan down through all the posts such as Larrys, That these are the posters ways of proving that the watchtower is not the true religeon. I did not see Larrys post as simply an "observation". I saw it as a way to show others why witnesses don't have the truth. The ONLY thing I use to show why the watchtower is false, is there doctrine. ( telling there followers to avoid independant thinking is one of my cornerstone problems with the tower). I won't allow myself to condemn them because a few treated me badly. I know thats dangerous, because the second I attend any other church, There will be a few mean people there too.
I gathered from Larrys comments, that he was an elder at one time. I was never an elder, So that kind of added experience puts him in a different league then me. I appreciate his observations.
Beck, Yes, I agree with you. I do not excuse any one persons meanness. It is the thought that all witnesses are mean because a few are, that bothers me.
Detective,
" Musky, I don't agree with you on this one. If someone chooses to speak specifically about problems or attitudes that are either common among witnesses or alternatively, are perceived by the speaker to be common among witnesses from their own personal experiences, why does one have to qualify that by speaking about other churches as well? "
I hope my above comments explain this. I probably misunderstood the intent of Larrys post as simply an "observation". If his intent was to show that the tower was not the true religeon bacause of his observations, Then I feel he also needs to examine the meanness in other religeons as well.

Mimilly, No need for apology. Everyone is entitled to there opinion. Makes this board an interesting place. I am sorry to hear that you were hurt by an elder. I did have a few jerk elders, that tried to disfellowship me. I had the decision overturned by 3 other elders. I understand some people can be cold and unfeeling. I force myself to not think about the few stupid people( hard to do sometimes) , just look at the watchtowers doctrine is all to determine the watchtower has problems. Thanks for your reply.
Larry, Sorry to get off your subject . o.k. here goes
Remember how "some" witnesses treated other witnesses like CRAP for no reason!

Mimilly, Maybe you don't understand the point i was making here. If you want to talk about the mean witneses, then you must also talk about the mean people who fill every church in this world. and all the mean people who don't go to church, or believe in God. I try and see each person for what they are, and not the religeon they are associated with. Also, I don't believe you would try and excuse the guilty molesters among the catholics , would you? Bad people deserve to be put down in "spades" ,if we understand that term the same way. But catholics as a whole are not bad or mean.
I do feel insulted a liitle by your comment that i was "oblivious" to what went on around me. I was raised a witness, so I had been involved for about 22 years or so before i left. Seems to be enough time to make some observations, don't you think ?

Larry and Mimilly, I do not remember most of the examples you give. Personally, I have found most J.W.'s to be good people, just misguided, by the society. They just do and think what theyre told, as sad as that sounds. I think most have a good heart and want to help people. The society teaches them to ignore there personal feelings. I remember a few elders that were jerks. It is not because of them or a few other stupid ones that made me stop attending. It was there doctrines only.

Did you get anyone into the Borg?
by FiveShadows ini am fortunate enough to say "no.
" i tried very hard to get people to come to meetings and assemblies...and during it all i was bored out of my mind and had a voice in my heart keep saying "what if what you think is the 'truth' is not really the "truth" and you stand before the throne to be judged?
would these people take your place and die for you because you believed in them and not jah?

Probably , if we went in service, talked to our families or people at work, theres a good chance we led some to be witnesses, even though we may not have known it. But I do feel that if we believed we were helping others, then we won't be judged harshly before the throne. Just the opposite I think. Nobodys perfect on this earth.

Cars for Service
by freedom96 indo you remember how many people would buy a car, with service in mind?
i remember people talking about how not to buy a 2 door, because it is not as good for going out in service.
people would be looked down upon big time if they bought a sporty or compact car.

CC, That is hard to believe that the circuit overseer would actually have the guts to get in someone elses car and turn the radio on, and make judgments. That would piss me off big time. Maybe next time he will go to a brother or sisters house and have a look around when theyre not there. Maybe check to see if theres anything ungodly around.
