  Newborn, Mickey Mouse, Lisa, I am sorry to hear about your experiences.

  I have parents that very seldom come to visit my family. They are both witnesses. I was born in the watchtower, and found out it was not the truth maybe 20 years ago. I thought that the reason they were somewhat cold was my not believing anymore. I now believe it is a personality thing. I think they may come up with excuses why they don't come to visit or call that often. Whether its the watchtower rules or the weather or whatever. I think some people find excuses to ultimately convey there true feelings. I don't intend my comment to mean that this is typically the case with everyone though. Just my personal experience.

  Why I suspect most people do not really believe in god

  growing up as a jw i never really believed in god.

  i thought everyone else didn't really believe either.

  when some sort of religious activity or speak was going on i was just pretending and i thought everyone else was pretending too.

  Excellent post! I grew up believing in God. I was taught that and knew nothing else. I thought we were better than everyone else. Now all I want is for God to answer my prayer. I don't know if anyones listening.

  of course, it's true that, next to the television's remote control, dog is man's best friend.

  perhaps my justified ambivalence toward poochicus biteyourbuttabit is due to too many an untoward encounter with the snarling, hydrophobic malevolence of a fido, a rover, a rin tin tin, intent on my evisceration.

  We never had dogs, but cats. I find them to be some work at times. Most important they are a big stress reliever for me. Unconditional love they show.

  Driving on Ice

  i had run some errands today, got out the house close to noon, and it was about two hours before i started home.

  came out of aldi's and the parking lot was slick with ice.

  i get on the road, all the roads are slick with ice.

  Of course, it makes sense to keep the speed to where you can stop in the distance you can see in (and sometimes you have to slow down).

  Excellent!

  If there is one piece of advice for driving in bad weather, it is to keep plenty of distance between you and the car ahead of you. Same goes for on ramps to freeways. (less congestion.) I see people who think that the speed limit sign is the proper speed for all conditions. The speed limit is for ideal conditions. There are just too many me first jerks out there that don't want to play nice.

  I don't believe it! That's impossible. All our fellow drivers are courteous and know how to drive carefully in less than perfect road conditions.....
