I have been mulling this one over for a while. As I have a close relationship with my family who are still 'in' I would like to maintain that if at all possible. However, when I start to think of the Elders knocking on my door and putting me on the spot I can feel my blood start to boil and I am afraid that I am going to let them have it with both barrels (and possibly a boot up the arse too). Has anyone had success with threatening legal action ie, if you announce that I have been DF'd and cause a division in my family I will sue? Maybe I'll tell them this anyway and hope it scares them. The editor of the local newspaper is an ex JW and I am sure he would LOVE to run a story about it. :)

by searcher ini have been reading a lot of threads/posts where people are trying to fade quietly, and are being ' picked off ' one at a time by the new policy of contacting ' inactive ones '.. my thoughts on this are, why wait to be 'picked off' ?.
if the wt is going to df/da people anyway, why not a mass da by all sending in letters at the same time ?.
the wt is using a tactic of attrition, keeping people isolated from the flock and dealing with them one at a time, this looks good in the stats.

I know of several JW's who have used df'ing as a way of getting out of a marriage and then marrying the person they were having the affair with only to go back to the troof with the new wife\husband in tow. What got me was the way they acted like their sh*t didn't stink after they were reinstated. I recall one in particular giving it the 'high and mighty' tone over the phone when I said something about how cliquey my cong was. What a tosser! :)

House prices are getting ridiculous even in the sleepy arse-end-of-nowhere that I happen to live in. I remember in the 80's when the prices soared a friend of mine bought a bungalow for about 29,000, a year or so later it was worth double that, had he waited he would have never been able to afford to buy the place as our wages had risen about 4% and he couldn't have got a mortgage. I just hope we don't see a repeat of the misery when ppl were losing their homes. The only consolation was seeing the Estate Agents who'd helped crank up the prices going to the wall too.

Scientists have traced back the Mytochondrial DNA showing that we are all related. It's only 2000 generations (wonder how many that is in WT generations? heh) since this happened.
