They never told me WHY I was disassociated.
No charges, no accusations, no nothing.
I was just history.

many of us needed time to get away from this religion.
i took the course of fading and it's worked pretty well for me.
after i saw sooooo many silly rules being enforced, i needed to get out!.
They never told me WHY I was disassociated.
No charges, no accusations, no nothing.

:Leaving for good: was never a destination for me.
I wanted to know more than the Society dishes out; and so I never stopped seeking.
Wouldn't trade the Seeker role for all the tea in China.

i am curious as to what you first did when you left the watchtower society's mind control cult.. did you try to find friends who had gotten out also?
did you go to school (college/university)?.
how different was the "world" you now found yourself in compared to living in jw-land?.
There's even a place in the universe for the Errant.

Matthew chapter 18. If you want to keep your relationship with Jehovah, you do it HIS way in order to NOT SLANDER the Good and the Sincere.
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

i was inspired by a recent thread i know i aint gunna crumble the wt, but a girl can dream to look at the effect we as individuals are having on the watchtower society.. 3dogs1husband quoted a story to show that even helping only one person is worth it.. it is encouraging to note that the one person you may have helped has lead to millions being helped, due to the power of compounding growth.. compounding growth is well illustrated by the rice on a chessboard problem.
if you start with 1 grain of rice on square one, and double it to 2 on the second, 4 on the third, 8 on the fourth, by the last (64th) square there would be 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains of rice.. likewise, if you help one person out of the grip of the watchtower this year, then next year you help one more and they help one, in a few years that is going to have a formidable result on the number of jehovahs witnesses.
look at the following statistics.
There's no point in kicking a sick horse; this thread is devastating
WTBTS Leadership is lacking due to excessive timidity among the Brothers in charge.
And they won't let women-in-the-know speak up at all, just follow along in the readings.
Lately I'm with Mennonites (and Anglicans), and they're doing better than this; their leading men have balls.
And they don't virtually silence their women from speaking from the heart.
For those who believe in the efficacy of prayer, there is plenty to pray in hopes FOR.
I pray that Jehovah may correct this Governing Body.

Nothing changed much. My life has been filled with experiences centered around the Kingdom of God. I got remarried, had two more sons, went to college (age 40-49), tried going into business, got divorced again; took care of my adopted mother until her passing; kept all the balls in the air til I got sick and had to retire. Since then (age 57) I do research on-line, carry on four web-sites, a news group; several Photo Albums; collect crochet & knitting patterns for self-sufficiency in the future; wrote four books about living in community. YHVH God is still the center of my life, and I like it that way. I'm content; all my kids are grown and educated; and their kids are bright as new pennies. I do videos on Youtube, radio shows on BlogTalkRadio; I have 5000 Friends on Facebook because I do a news column that saves people time. Armageddon's here (called "Comet ELEnin") and the WTBTS doesn't give a SHIFT for its own people. What a shame.

years (many decades) ago, most jws knew what their religion taught.
they could go toe to toe with a minister or priest and make some good points.. i believe today's witness knows little about most of the convoluted teachings and revisions of the "truth".
yesteryear's witnesses got a 9/10.
Yes, Policy, Process and Procedure are become MORE Holy, more Sacred, than Effects PRODUCED upon the people involved.
It's as if YHVH God forgot what a butterfly or rose ought to LOOK AS and PERFORM AS, and only cared whether they were shipped by the ton or not.
It's as if the numbers on the Service Report were more Sacred than the Love and Relationship of Souls for their Creator Father.
This is why I am NOT ashamed of having been THROWN OUT. I didn't sin; THEY did--shunning a whole family who had not violated Holy Law.
You know what happens, under Holy Law, when individuals are CURSED who are innocent?
Their JUDGES carry their curse, in the Judgment.

I can speak to this because I came into the Society in 1965 when you HAD TO KNOW "Jehovah." It wasn't ENOUGH to spout doctrine.
There had to be a relationship there, between the Witness and YHVH God. One CANNOT BE A WITNESS if you don't know the SUBJECT.
Being kicked out of the Herndon VA congregation for NO wrong-doing set me free from the Organization; but I never left Jehovah.
In the intervening 32 years, the Organization has reflected the same socio-spiritual experiences of all the other Churches: luke-warming of the "Elect."
In those days, we lived for the day that the whole System would go down; and it never needed "going down" MORE than it needs to do that now.
Corrupt, perfidious (lying), predatory and parasitic leadership is all we have anymore. In 1965 it wasn't this bad; Sincerity was still understood.
No more. Sincerity doesn't even come up. Nor does Faithfulness-under-trial; Commitment to principles of good behavior; or even, Chastity.
People don't even know WHAT "Chastity" is: to stand for a sacred principle against all odds.
Today WTBTS Leadership still talks about Armageddon, but they have not prepared the large body of Witnesses for disasters on their way here NOW.
Today WTBTS Leadership is all about accountability to "method and procedure"; never mind the disasters they create in human families and lives with their shunning policy, directed almost totally randomly AT single parent families and compromised relationships. They don't know Jehovah anymore! Jehovah is the God of RELATIONSHIP, not merely of belief-systems.
Negotiating the sale of the Brooklyn property, WTBTS have NO PLANS to create a sharing Christian community for brothers and sisters who have paid their way all these hundred and fifty years.
Personally, I think rank and file Witnesses have more of a grasp on Discipleship and Integrity than the people at Bethel, who in 32 years of my writing to the Governing Body about matters of principle, have never seen fit to reply, respond nor answer my questions surrounding IMPERSONAL and INDIFFERENT leadership.
But God is Faithful, even when Leadership stumbles and errs.
SheCHAIyahhey all :) i'm new to this website, just happened to of stumbled across it and learning lots from all of your posts!
i just need a bit of guidance, not for my self but for my boyfriend.
i myself have never been a jw but he has grown up in "the truth" and recently realized the real truth ;) both his mom, his dad, his step mom, and step dad are all witnesses and try to bring him back continuously, even though he has only gone to the odd meeting or 2 in the past 3 years.
Face it: he's going to lose contact with his family, and that's how it is. Forever.
Soooo, I guess the two of you better make some new (permanently accepting) friends.
There's no "Out" clause; it's one way or the other, and shunning is permanent.
BTW, shunning also occurs in Amish and Old Order Quaker families.
