LOL - Thunder belongs to someone else! Remember SheilaM?
oops my bad, sorry bout that, I knew who I meant, just had the wrong name. Thanks Andi
me and the kids went to rent movies and noticed that there were long lines of people waiting for gas.
we live in shreveport/bossier louisiana about five hours north of new orleans.
we do have tons of evacuees here and so i understand it is going to be busier here than usual.. people were breaking lines to get gas tonite, and you could feel the tension in the air.

It is between $2.85 and $2.99 here.
I was wondering how you and Thunder were doing. I am glad you and the family are okay.
we're awaiting the arrival of kwintestal and heart2heart as they make their long trek back home.
they'll be having dinner with us tonight.. in a couple of hours' time... and i know their computer access has been almost non-existant over the last several days.... so how about sending them a virtual hug and a big hello, which i will print out for them before they set out on their journey again!.
let's make it a nice big thread!
(((((((((((kwin & heart2heart)))))))))))
Have a safe journey!
got a phone call from my daughter who lives in florida a couple of hours ago.
her significant other who i chose to call my son-in-law (because he is the best thing to ever happen to her) got a phone call that his 6 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident near lake placid, florida and his 5 year old son is in very critical condition.
the ex wife is also critical.
but this is where I have said in other posts...................that this family who are JW do not even care that me or my daughter left the borg. They love us unconditionally. They moved to North Carolina this past spring but are driving down to FL tomorrow to help run s-i-l's business until this is over. I will be leaving for FL again in a few days.
I am happy to see this kind of love and support. That is the way it should be. I consider you lucky in that respect. It is hard to hear my brother say " I love you and I hope you understand" I remember having his attitude once upon a time, so I try to understand.
This is especially the time when you need your family the most.

My deepest sympathy. Any more news on the son and his mom? Thinking positive thoughts to send your way.
i just came from what will probably be the last conversation i'll ever have with my father.
earlier in the day, i'd talked to my mom and she asked what i was up to - translated "what are you doing with yourself since you aren't going to meetings or out in service?
" i told her i'd been discussing the bible with an informal group of people and reading older wts literature.
Ingenuous,
My heart absoulutely aches reading what you are having to go through. Your parents have relied on you for a lot of things. You have had pretty close ties to them. Hopefully time will soften things.
Your dad may not run to the elders. I have one family member still in. He (an older brother) is an elder. I purposely lit a cigarette while standing next to him this summer at our oldest brothers wedding. I have very little contact with him because I got tired of initiating the contact. There are pics of the wedding with me standing next to him cigarette in hand. LOL The only thing he had to say about it was the health risks. I guess he hasn't turned me in to the local congregation at least I haven't heard from anyone.
Hopefully time will heal things at least to some extent. Hang in there.

smile .

You got 19 out of 20 correct
I missed the third one.
real fake
.
she printed that my said father said i was thrown up against a wall, actually he said "across the room onto the bed"..
Again, I can't wait to get the book. It has so much potential to get the attention it deserves, and I think you are heading in the right direction with it. I don't know who else has read "A Child Called It" and the books that followed it. The first one stayed on the best sellers list for a long time. Bryan I hope your book has equal success.

i am in the middle of publishing my book on my exit from the jws.
it is still hosted on freeminds, but is undergoing revision to clean up grammar, spelling, split a couple of chapters and add a couple of chapters.
i will also be adding an appendix of correspondence with the watchtower society.
Here's to Joe

Quite an update Jim. Looking forward to your book. Did you ever post a pic of your brother? I watched for it after you mentioned it.
