Congrats...sorry about your mom though. I can't wait till feel that same sense of freedom. How sad that we it only can come from the death of someone we love. Only in watchtower land

I did it my way
by Roberta804 inas many of you know, my mother passed away this past week.
sitting here in the quiet of my hotel room i recalled a repeated wish i had since i was 10 years old.
"if only mom would die i would be free (of the jws)".

Here is the funeral talk outline. VERY discraceful.
by stillstuckcruz inthis is truly terrible.
i just love the statement "instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a fine witness concerning the truth.
" in other words, utterly disregard the deceased.

33 %
by Theredeemer inso, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the co visit and came back with some very interesting news.
first off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself.
anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion.

No she is not lol. Trust me, I was shocked! She would not be one to make things up! The fact is, the 33% part is not new. It's just math. What is shocking is the statement he made about the red bag and the don't ask don't tell comment he made. So many lives could have been saved. That's what happens I guess when you let people play god.
This co is very young, about 30-35. I remember at the circuit assembly this past year right around the beggining of nov, during the last prayer he said please bless the fds then he paused then said "who is now the governing body". Me and my wife both looked at each other thinking is he making fun of it?? It was the way he said now, almost with a sense of frustration.

So, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the CO visit and came back with some very interesting news. First off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself. Anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion. He said that its up to your conscience and quote " if you see me at the hospital with a bag of red liquid, You leave me alone and I'll leave you alone". She said nobody really thought anything about it which shocked her because to her that was a huge statement. We ended having an awesome conversation and she realized how sad it has become. I showed her the pic from the magazine with the order of who's who in jahs earthly org and the first thing she said was "Where is JC ?". Has anybody else heard of the 33% thing?Sounds to me like blood is now officially a conscience matter

Would I be the punching bag?
by NeverKnew inpoor cognac's challenge has me thinking.. as a non-jw, if i were to marry this jw, would the congregation attribute problems we would encounter to him being married to me?
i don't want to be a punching bag.
couples have challenges.

Theredeemer
Yes. Many, if not most, will blame his decision to marry an unbeliever for any problems you both have. Thats not the worst part though. Make sure this person is not banking that you will convert because if they are, even subconsciously, then they will slowly begin to attribute all the problems to you for not wanting to convert.
You might become the punching bag to your spouse, which is much worse

welcome! Whatever you are experiencing please know that someone here has gone through something similar and can relate. Please, all I ask is, enjoy your youth and not in the witness way. Go to college, date as much as you can, travel to distant places, read about and experience different cultures. Although this site is fantastic, it can become as addicting and as time consuming as fb. Most importantly do not be afraid

Your earliest doubt?
by Apognophos inthis might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

Dude the explicitness of the book of bible stories is shocking! That book should have been banned! That pic of Jezebel was kinda hot though
