"...again the wts is using the term "prophet" in the basic sense of a spokesman.
I would say no, prophet used in the basic sense can not be right.
The word is rare in the NT Greek Scripture. It is applied to John and is used in reference to the ancient "prophets".
They teach, as Genesis 40:8 says, that interpretations belong to God.
A prophet means a person who is an interpreter or forth-teller of Divine Will.

So one who assumes Scripural interpretation or what God will do is a FALSE prophet.

I try not to. I know of some people, unless they are not people, I don't know, that do. It is possible to believe something you know is not true. The brain has the capacity to lie to itself. Of that I am sure. Unless I'm dreaming. Haha I think I am not dreaming.

You do not want to burn your bridge and that is wise in my opinion.
I have been having understanding of things I wonder about.
It has come to my attention that it is probably true (I believe it scripturally interpreted) that it is acceptable to NOT understand and to understand but it is NOT acceptable to MISunderstand. People feel comfortable to settle on believing whatever they believe whether it is true or not. Of course no one here would chose to believe something not true on purpose knowing it is not true. Would they?

I had a realization today. I can't tell you the whole of it, it was a religious experience.
It occured to me that it has to be hard to believe that if God is the Creator there can also be created things that don't believe God exists.

At one time the Watchtower had people believing God needs people. Maybe you felt needed.
Feeling needed is one of the best feelings. (Motherhood). It is my opinion that God does not need people. God does not need us.
I need God.
Your feeling has dwindled because you no longer believe you need God still thinking (perhaps).

Even after the surety is mine that God is real I still wonder if God is with me and for me. Today I sat at the ocean's edge. The light was perfect on the water. The wind was blowing. The light was dancing on the water. I felt unsure that God knew my appreciation for the best show I ever saw. I felt kind of sad.

Maybe if you stop calling what would be your god something and start looking for someone, you might have better success.

When I have been in a sad place and a very lonely place I have been led out. It is not me who has led myself out.
The place feels like the last place I am loved and understood. I have not WANTED to leave that place. It is not I that would have led me out. So who did?
The feeling of hope can be a powerful force to get someone out but I was hopeless so hope wasn't it. I was tired of loving but not being loved so my own love did not get me out. It was God who got me out. If it was not God, then what?
