VA Tech Incident - Stupid Things People Say
by Seeker4 inwatching all the pundits on tv after the killings at va tech yesterday, there were a handful of things that kept getting repeated that are just stupid.
usually they also require an impossible level of hindsight (which a good number of the pundits have, it seems).
i've just got to rant about this for a few minutes.

Ever get spanked for pulling your dress up in the meeting when little?
by White Dove inhave you ever gotten slapped and dragged into the back room for a spanking because your mother or father accused you of pulling your skirt up during the meeting?
i was thinking of the little girls outgrowing their dresses and them becoming so short that it was hard to sit 2 hours with the skirt pulled down over your knees or just above, at the very least.
my sister's and my dresses were always too short when we sat down and could only keep them pulled down to a decent length when standing, not sitting.

ok ok.... i haven't posted on here in FOREVER and a day....but i couldn't resist this thread.
I got spanked for ....GET THIS - you guys remember the "kingdom melody" that was about the paradise? It sounded Hawaiian, right? Well, i started dancing like a Hawaiian hoola dancer....swinging my hips slowly and waiving my hands.
MAN did i get the crap beat outta me for that one....(however, i DID get a lot of roaring laughter from the attendees in the rows behind us). I was around 4 years old.

OMG - I am so embarrassed to once have been associated with this GESTAPO mentality. I couldn't believe it as i was reading it. but damn, it sounds SOOOOO JW!
PATHETIC....that's the only word i can think of to describe it. Think of the brownie points the brother that wrote that article got. Cell phones "wasting time", and one not being able to "monitor" conversations?! OMG....no they didn't!!!! and excessive talking considered "dating"?

why can't i commit to the apostafest in green bay

Ok. For those of you not sure if you will go to the apostofest in Green Bay......please hear my story.
I was really scared of going to my first apostofest in Dallas, which is 1 hr. drive from my home in Fort Worth. I'd never been to one and was terrified (remember, we've been programmed that "apostates are evil"....even though I myself was one at this point). In anycase, i bit the bullet and went. and it was the best thing i've ever done for myself. I was IMMEDIATELY greeted and made to feel welcome. Not only did i meet a bunch of wonderful people....but i had a great time....because for the first time since my disfellowshipping, i felt like i wasn't alone. Not to mention, all that crap we were taught....about how life on the outside is terrible and alone.....well, they're wrong. I smiled to myself the entire drive home afterwards!!!!! I have felt more love from the apostofests than any assembly or meeting, or "get together" i attended in my 20some years in the "troof". So please, i GREATLY encourage you ....if you can get there...by all means....you'll miss out terribly if you don't go. I'll be coming ALL THE WAY FROM TEXAS!!!! WOOHOOO.....
I know its scary... meeting strangers always is. But i promise, the "stranger" feeling only lasts about 2 seconds. Our hostess, Xenawarrior, is the best....After about the 1st 30 minutes....it'll feel like we've known each other all our lives. Please go!

Was watching a History Channel program last night (yeah, i'm a history channel geek!) and was introduced for the first time in my LIFE to the APOCRYPHAL BOOKS OF THE BIBLE?!?!?!?!? OMG....fascinating. I'm gonna go to Barnes & Noble today and do some research but was wondering if anyone here on this forum had any input on this topic. I can't wait to dig into these and read these....and find out exactly why they were excluded, etc.

Although i don't know the entire situation, this chickie sounds like she may be "leftover" hypersensitive possibly? STAY AWAY....she's trouble for ya, dude. Because that conversation (if you interpreted it correctly) was fairly innocent. It makes it really hard for people who've actually had serious harrassment prove their point with frivolities such as this one. (p.s. i'd start documenting all interactions with this co-worker, THIS INCLUDES EMAILS).
