Predict JW life in future

a sister said the other day at the ministry group “”what is all this talk that the end is still some way off” she said she has been waiting for decades and she was told there is no way it would take this long.

some others said in an annoyed kind of way yes they would have made different decisions decades ago if they knew the end still would not have come by 2023.. how will the majority react in a few more decades time when the end still hasn’t come?.

why all that talk of sense of urgency decades ago?.

1995 Generation change jumpstarted my MO part of PIMO...the CSA scandal and Dateline in 2001 pushed me almost entirely mentally out.

Family ties keep me PI. So I smile when people in service groups talk about stuff like this. I was a child in 1975 so I have no strong memory either way but after 1995 I made sure I went to school, looked for a good employer that offers 401k and maxed my contribution out.

If you were a smart JW back in the 90's and started to "wake up" shame on you for not preparing!

Ramapo

Well Tuxedo is an exclusive area with million dollar plus homes Warwick/Ramapo not so much. Nice area but they will not get the same return they did from Brooklyn is all I am saying. I mean WTBTS bought that property in Bklyn back in the early 1900's and sold it for.... billions possibly is what we think?

The Warwick and Ramapo properties were built where there were trees and is not at the moment nor ever was zoned for residential so I would think that they would need to find a specific client to purchase it. The gain will not be nearly as substatntial as it was when they left Bk Hts where real estate deveolpers were lining up to grab that VERY desireable location.

i had a conversation about this 22 carat gold contradiction with a couple of zealous jw's a couple of days ago.. even their personal "explanations" contradicted each other as they tried justify their cognitive dissonance!.

an absolute delight to witness such absurdity.. "after all, no one will be allowed to practice vile things in the new world.

the unrighteous must have practiced these vile things [john 5:29] before their death.

It’s pretty obvious the real reason is to increase their real estate portfolio.

The problem I see is that the Warwick/Tuxedo/Ramapo area of Orange county NY is not nearly as desireable and valuable as Brooklyn Heights. So they will have more of a challenge unloading this in the future if that is indeed their "scam".

then covid happened and zoom was a chance for a good chat while pretending to write letters
many or most did not want to go back to door to door.

I do think that COVID has had a profound impact on the seriousness of the ministry for sure, however I do think that it does depend on the area you are in, the congregation, and the individual publishers. You can not generalize I agree. From what I can see, and speaking from my own PIMO experience, the above quote seems true in many many cases.

Bethel Tours restarting

the org is always so late.

i remember the last in person meetings before went to zoom, none of us were wearing facemasks and i thought why is the org so late with this.

they just announced older ones shouldn’t come but most large organisations had already stopped in person.

In speaking to many JWs over the passed 2 weeks I can honestly say that at first the feeling was that this was for health reasons. However the more time that is passing and still nothing is said is making people start to wonder. For a high control organization this is not a good thing. The friend that shared the above info with me is a longtime elder, former pioneer/bethelite and a born in and is definitely a PIMI and he was kind of taken aback by what this bethelite shared with him.

As more and more JWs accept that this really happened and start to wonder why, and still nothing is said about it then this will not bode well for PIMI retention. I will definitely be following up with my buddy as time goes on.

PIMO here. Spoke to a Friend from the east coast and we told me that he spoke to a bethelite over the weekend and one of the overseers in his dept. told them that we should not even try to guess what the cause of his not serving on the GB is but trust that the GB would not remove someone for health reasons...

Now of course this could just be opinion of this Bethelite and has no basis in fact. There is still no way to tell for certain what exactly happened. What this does tell me however is that some people are starting to feel as though this was a removal. It might be in their best interest to address this sooner than later I think. Even their "godly bethelites" are starting to wonder WTH is going on.
