  Stop thinking short term and look at the bigger picture ... it's the dabbling in these countries and interferance by the west that has created the problem we have now. It is not something that has just 'appeared' that we have to ride in "pistols drawn" to sort out. It is something we created.

  Interesting discussion. "Something we created" If you look at history in the middle east, particularly in the last 60 years or so you will see that much of the strife and turmoil began when the UN along with UK as its biggest supporter (US as well) started a little settlement that was named Israel.

  It seems that no one wants to own up to the terrible way that was handled and we are all suffering 57 years later from it. The UK had a HUGE part in the creation of Israel and so did the UN. Of course this is simplifying a very complicated situation but I think it all kind of started with this.

  I believe that is former GB Martin Poetzenger, excuse the spelling. He died in the late 70's-early 80's I think. Ted Jaracz looks more like Jean Luc Picard than that.

  What Double Standards Do JW's Practice?

  one double standard that always got to me was how a body of elders would talk about how a brother needed to "qualify" for some privilege by being a good example for weekend service and yet a number of elders would hardly ever go out in field service at all!

  or how they would use 2 hours to literally gossip about everyone in the congregation, and then give a local needs talk on the need of not talking about the brothers and minding our own business.........what double standards got to you?

  Here's an interesting question based on Mary's comment: If you are accused of fornication or adultery by the person you supposedly committed it with, but you deny that it happened do the elders proceed with a judicial case against you even though there is only the 1 witness. Obviously in the case of pedophiles they do not.

  Any ex elders here come across this? What was done under the the WTS rules of action?

  Double Life/"Privileges"

  how many of you knew/know of brothers or sisters who lead double lives as kids or young adults and later in life are now elders, po's, pioneers, bethelites?

  i knew of one brother several years older than me who was screwing so many girls throughout hs.

  his daddy was the po so he never got "dealt" with and now he is the po in that cong.

I knew of one brother several years older than me who was screwing so many girls throughout HS. His Daddy was the PO so he never got "dealt" with and now he is the PO in that cong.

  how many innocent people have died on the borg's altar of insanity with the prohibition of blood?

  now they are trying to weesel out of it, no more blood cards, a de-emphasis on the whole issue of blood, the cowerdly bastards!.

  this is a powerful litmus test as to their level of brain-washing, the death of hundreds or thousands & little, if any outcry.. well, i guess if you are calling yourself a sheep?.

  We got our new cards about a month ago along with the identity cards for unbaptized minor children to no doubt hand out in January. The wording on the card is the same as its always been.

  Are you an active JW who still cares about this religion? If so you should not be here at an "apostate" website. Did you miss the service meeting several weeks ago discussing this subject.

  You are showing your rebeliousness and possible lingering doubts by being here.... do us all a favor and go out in service brother! Otherwise cut the stupid comemnts and start asking some real questions, you may be surprised with what you find here.

I saw in some recent posts the question asked if arguing scares us off... or are some of us "double agents" (whatever the heck that is) or lurkers. Well the arguing didnt help in my case, not that I was scared off but saw it as pointless drivle.....sort of like the Service meetings for me lately so I stopped posting and reading most of the comments. Anyone up for an IM chat? Please let me know.

  Nevermind. It was just a thought. All in all I do enjoy many of the posters on here. I appreciate Kenpodragons icy honesty, Amazing's experience, Jrizo's comical yet meaningful posts and many others. I will keep "lurking" for now I suppose.

  inn a tread down i see a very intrestring debatt about who this system was put in charge, and that it was r,f who was the creator.. i have very clear memory of when this system come and who we handel it.. we have to sitt and was sopposed to tell each other what was our good points, and what wrong we have, some brothers was wery hurt by this examination .. my expirense is that this is not a good system you dont have to read long on this site to find that terribel abuse have been done in the name of elder system.. perhaps this man who put this sytem in charge, was not from jehova, i think the issu is very well described of the sign down on this site.. it could bee intresting to hear what you here think of this, is the elder system an erreor?.

  and what responsibility they have the creator or the creators?.

  Hillary_Step this is exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

  Of course any elder who willfully wants to keep his position at the risk of someone else is full of pride. Those are not the individuals I was referring to. You all have to remember the socialogical and psychological pressure these men and their families sometimes have to endure. Its often not as simple as "ok I don't want to be an elder anymore, you people are unethical so I am just going to sit here in the KH as a regular publisher and do good" though I wish it was that simple.
