This just opens it up even more for ass kissers to be appointed to positions since now all they or their relatives have to do is give a green handshake or suck some CO ass. The fact that would would still tout that these men are "scripturally" qualified is ludicrous.

New BOE Letter Re. Elders/MS Appointments and Deletions
by XBEHERE infrom the wording of the letter it seems that the co has been given carte blanche with appointments and deletions.
nowhere in the letter does it indicate that any records are sent to and from the co to the branch office.
even if a body wants to delete an appointed brother and he disagrees his only recourse would be to write a "brief" letter to the service dept.

From the wording of the letter it seems that the CO has been given carte blanche with appointments and deletions. Nowhere in the letter does it indicate that any records are sent to and from the CO to the branch office. Even if a body wants to delete an appointed brother and he disagrees his only recourse would be to write a "brief" letter to the service dept. cc'ing the CO and his body.
The Service Dept. basically turns that right back to an "assigned experienced CO" to go over the details with the involved CO and they decide if his appeal has merit or not. There is a lot more boring details but these to me are the key parts.
What do you think? Is this for legal reasons, the WTS is distancing themselves more from local BOE's and CO's?
wow..

Hypocrisy of a paragraph in the "Draw Close to Jehovah" book!
by stuckinarut2 in"draw close to jehovah" book.
page 106, para 20:.
20 does serving whole-souled mean that we must all spend the same amount of time and energy in the ministry?

I agree and this is even more the case for August. I am getting so much pressure from other appointed men to "set an example" in August. This JW.Org tract is of vital importance. Ourselves and our families must set the proper example to the flock, the society wants August to be a "historical month"

FROM FEET TO FINGERS: THE WATCHTOWER EVOLVES INTO JW.ORG
by steve2 inwith the official letter from the gb to all bodies of elders, a stylized jw.org banner can now be appended to kingdom hall signage.. what an auspicious year this will turn out to be for the organization!!.
among other outcomes, the "link" with the old, baggage-ridden "watchtower bible & tract society" recedes into the background.
furthermore, now you don't pretend to need feet trudging door-to-door - your worker is done at the press of a few directed fingers.

The thing is, how many people always, and only rely on an official site of a company or organization for information about that entity? I know that I don't, I google everything especially if its an investment in time or money. Do they really think that people will only go to jw.org for information about JWs.
They are essentially inviting the public to "google" JW's. This is going to be a backfire I think.
lol....please

They are really doing this....
Dear Brothers:
You will be pleased to know that the Governing Body has approved displaying the official
logo for jw.org on Assembly Halls and Kingdom Halls. The sign should match the attached sample,
which shows the official design, color, and font. The sign should be displayed in an appropriate,
dignified way using a 12" x 12" or 20" x 20" size. It can be attached either to the existing Kingdom
Hall sign or to the Kingdom Hall itself as shown in the attached sample renderings. Please
keep the following guidelines in mind when you prepare the sign. You will find it helpful to involve
a brother or sister with technical experience and an understanding of what is presented below.

The elders are 'letting me fade'
by TableForOne ini attended my last meeting in january 2014, having realised that i'd been lied to for 20+ years (i'm now 43 y/o).
rumours spread of my 'apostasy'.. in may, cobe contacted me inviting me to a private meeting with elders at the kh.
(no mention of the meeting being a jc).
-
XBEHERE
Yes they will, right after they've gossiped to their wives, children, etc. about your apostasy and how far gone you are. Their families will in turn spread the gossip to all who will listen. So not really a fade persay, but you are free nonetheless so congratulations

Announcement to print from JW.ORG in service meeting
by suavojr inyes, you read that correctly.
last night during the service meeting, the cobe gave an announcement that we should start printing or using jw.org for any special literature such as the daily text, the yearly calendar, etc... he also mentioned to please cancel any orders of the wt and awake on cds because no one is picking them up and they are piling up.. .
my question is, where did this elder get this info from?
-
XBEHERE
overzealous application of that elder letter that was referenced above. to be honest I dont blame them, most of the industrialized world is heading all digital anyway. where internet penetration is still low they will continue to print literature for them and the latest tithing controversy is most likely to continue to pay for that in part.

Would JWs Really Drink The Kool Aid?
by minimus inif push came to shove and it was a showdown for loyalty to the organization or not following whatever decrees coming heir way, what percentage would remain loyal to the organization?
.

No. I really doubt that most people would do that. The wack jobs that think they are annointed and special will do it so that they can get their "reward" quicker.
