Letting go of Highly Qualified Men
by James Jackson ini have been posting for a few months now and have read the life stories of tech49, confusedandalone, winston smith and other brothers who have held prominent positions in the organization who were dismissed not for any gross sins, but mainly for not keeping their child toeing the line.
they have been "cast aside", nit picked to death, and made to feel unworthy for their years of dedicated service.
even in my case, having my best friends treat me like the plague to jockey for position of recogntion.. is this what the organization is resorting to now?

then everyone would have felt better i think.
My father was an elder when i was a teen.
A while ago i had a discussion with him about his views on the elder body in the local congregation. i remember how he was.
(It was more of a blazing row with me almost dying of a heart attack, i had a lot of chest pain afterward, i'm exaggerating about the heart attack)

Can the jw organization be reformed?
by wannaexit ini know that this has been discussed in the past but i wanted to get some fresh opinions.
there are many out there that recognize the "rot" that is in watchtower but still feel that there is a "wholesome" side to it and are trying to bring about change or reform from within.. in 2002 when the rose colored glasses came off for me and i truly started to understand ttatt, i still felt that there was some redemable aspects of the organization.. i felt that russell had some doctrinal things right.
i don't feel like that anymore.

if prominent elders need more time with their families then God can provide replacements. I think most elders ive known don't mind giving the lesser one a good kicking so to speak

Living Alone - Love it or Loathe it?
by Crumpet inwell i have been living alone now for a week for the first time in about 6 years and apart from one or two minor episodes i am really really enjoying the freedom of it.
i feel like a weight has been lifted.
i feel free again - a tiny bit lonely at night - but mostly i think i've recaptured that long lost spring in my step.

i lived alone in a house empty except for me and half of the rooms were locked i only had a few rooms in the front it was in the country with no phone and before mobile phones and it was cold you could see your breath i didn't much care for it. within a year i moved.
it could have been different. i had a girlfriend ( she had worked as a lingerie model) that wasn't a witness and i had stopped seeing her and moved away she wanted to come and live with me. i could have been so much warmer. lol.

i don't think i can answer what i would know or not know in a situation that doesn't exist i can imagine it but i don't think that helps
other things may also be different in the situation that i would not be aware of at present. maybe God would make the rocks talk.

when i first started going out of the organization i thought something would come out that would change my view but it never did.
now i can't see any way that it could change to a point that I would ever join in the preaching with them.
