The only place where JWs are explicitly mentioned in the Bible?!
by Pinku inif they say to you, he is in the desert, do not go out there;.
if they say, he is in the inner rooms, do not believe it.
(mathew 24:26).

vRemember Those in the Full-Time Service
by thedog1 inforgive me if this has been posted before by somebody else but i am outraged by the wt study edition for sep 15 2014 and the study article about remembering those in full-time service.
some choice quotes:.
of course, some have circumstances that do not allow them to share in the ministry full-time at this point.

This paragraph assumes that everybody would pioneer if they could, and by implication condemns those who through their own choice, free will, conscience etc. decide they do not want to pioneer.
I was brought up to believe that
21 For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now—no, and never will be [again].( AMP https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2024&version=AMP)
I felt everyone should pioneer if they could.

?? Question for those that have successfully faded/are out:
by Darth Fader The Sequel inquestion: can any of you that have successfully faded out of the jw world without being df'd or da'd relate to me/us how you were able to maintain at least one or a few of your "still in" friends or family?
(and even if you were df'd or da'd and still maintained some relationships, how did that go?).
obviously, the truly demented, sick and twisted (and highly effective) policies and structure of the wtbt$ to set up a system by which anyone that chooses to no longer believe or participate must be treated as "mentally diseased" and a pariah by their own friends and family is the hands down, numero uno reason why many hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of jw's do not leave.

Giordano
when i asked a couple of morman girls recently why they believed in God i understood that the reason to be they believed because they saw evidence in their lives and in their church.
i think similarly that my parents believed partially because the witnesses showed they were fulfilling matt 24:14, evidence and so it seems to me it was a rational decision.

i always say hello even if they seem to not have seen me or recognize me, i don't think my appearance has changed. conversation is fine, general chit chat, i will only discuss something if they mention the truth. i try to be honest and not b mealy mouthed but it has a bad effect on me.

Did you ever actually believe the JW fantasy version of "Paradise"?
by Darth Fader The Sequel ini am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.
particularly when it comes to the animals.
more specifically, that the animals will all become vegetarians.

yes. i saw no problem with animals becoming vegans. i thought it would be much more like adam and eve with no house and no clothes and no anything other than a lot of fruit. and meetings about how important the meetings are.
