The only place where JWs are explicitly mentioned in the Bible?!
by Pinku inif they say to you, he is in the desert, do not go out there;.
if they say, he is in the inner rooms, do not believe it.
(mathew 24:26).

sowhatnow,
ucantcome, whats your opinion on this , then,
how is the kingdom, which isnt going to 'come with any stiking observableness',
I left the witnesses some 20 years ago and over the time my views have changed somewhat (which could mean I don't know, i haven't got the foggiest)

“If they say to you, “He is in the desert,” do not go out there;
If they say, “he is in the inner rooms,” do not believe it”. (Mathew 24:26)
If someone is in the desert or in the inner rooms, what is being highlighted is that person’s presence is not readily visible. Because Jesus contrasts this aspect with his visibility in the very next verse: “For just as the lightning comes from the East, and is SEEN as far as the West, so will be the coming (“presence,” NW) of the Son of Man be.” (Mathew 24:27 compare 2Thess 2:1, 2)
Interestingly, Jehovah’s Witnesses are known for their proclamation that Jesus’s presence is invisible!
When i left the Witnesses this was one of the things i discussed with the elders. Lightning is something you see and is very bright.
This is why I posted Ezekiel 24:24.
'Ezekiel has become a sign for you. Just as he has done, you will do. When it happens, you will have to know that I am the Sovereign Lord Jehovah.’ (NWT http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/b/r1/lp-e/nwt/E/2013/26/24)
'Since Ezekiel himself was a "portent," or "sign" (AV) of someone to come, and since he was not a type or prophetic figure of Jesus Christ, whom did he prophet Ezekiel typify in carrying out his divine commision?'
(page 56/57 The Nations Shall Know That I am Jehovah - How? WTB&TS of Pennsylvania 1971)
and further on in the book
The Modern-Day "Ezekiel" (heading on page 62) Wife's note at the side of page Remnant since 1918)
I'm not sure if this has been changed since then.

vRemember Those in the Full-Time Service
by thedog1 inforgive me if this has been posted before by somebody else but i am outraged by the wt study edition for sep 15 2014 and the study article about remembering those in full-time service.
some choice quotes:.
of course, some have circumstances that do not allow them to share in the ministry full-time at this point.

This paragraph assumes that everybody would pioneer if they could, and by implication condemns those who through their own choice, free will, conscience etc. decide they do not want to pioneer.
I was brought up to believe that
21 For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now—no, and never will be [again].( AMP https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2024&version=AMP)
I felt everyone should pioneer if they could.

?? Question for those that have successfully faded/are out:
by Darth Fader The Sequel inquestion: can any of you that have successfully faded out of the jw world without being df'd or da'd relate to me/us how you were able to maintain at least one or a few of your "still in" friends or family?
(and even if you were df'd or da'd and still maintained some relationships, how did that go?).
obviously, the truly demented, sick and twisted (and highly effective) policies and structure of the wtbt$ to set up a system by which anyone that chooses to no longer believe or participate must be treated as "mentally diseased" and a pariah by their own friends and family is the hands down, numero uno reason why many hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of jw's do not leave.

Giordano
when i asked a couple of morman girls recently why they believed in God i understood that the reason to be they believed because they saw evidence in their lives and in their church.
i think similarly that my parents believed partially because the witnesses showed they were fulfilling matt 24:14, evidence and so it seems to me it was a rational decision.
