The mental capacity of anyone who is a JW is probably easier to challenge than for those who aren't JWs. Moreover, a lawsuit to set aside a charitable gift will produce bad publicity for the WTBTS, which would likely force them to settle the case.
i'm not talking about any gb members, either!.

There are legal avenues to attack these types of gifts, regardless of what forms were signed. Anyone affected by a gift/bequest to the WTBTS should consult an attorney.
What goes on in the bedroom should stay there. Sharing any details of this pleasure in life with horny elders is disgraceful.
it's a shame this is only in the study edition, so the general public can't see how normal and down-to-earth the witnesses are in how they perceive themselves.... .

The points made in this thread are valid.
I am hoping that the use of these tragic events to illustrate these points will not offend the sensitivities of victims, or their friends or family members. I'm confident that nothing posted here on this subject was intended to do so and also that those who posted can certainly empathize with the victims and their familes/friends.
At the end of the day, we are all just humans, whether JW, DF/DA, opposer, apostate, or just plain old smart/lucky folks who never got caught up in this mess. None of us live forever, and all of us experience pain along this journey we call life.
The WTBTS' efforts to cause its followers to believe that there are no dangers in field service and other JW activities are despicable.
Christianity has a bloody history, and overall, I deem it to be the equivalent of a cancerous tumor to our society. To me, the cross symbolizes the bloodshed Christianity is responsible for, and therefore, to me, it's the equivalent of a swastika, as used in the Nazi sense.
Why do folks need to put crosses at the top of what are otherwise very beautiful mountains? I look at the cross the same way that I look at the swastika. It's offensive.
Jesus, if he actually exists/existed, would probably not have liked to see god's creation tarnished with such an ugly image.

some still act like jws but others have shown recovery and progress from the witness mentality..

Under the legal theory of "respondeat superior," the words of the elders, spoken from the platform, are attributed to the WTBTS corporations.
At our hall, the elders not only said Armageddon WOULD occur in October of 1975; they also gave a specific date in October of that year on which this happily anticipated destruction of mankind as we know it would occur.
At our hall, they didn't say it was "possible," or "probable." They said it would definitely occur. Because of their doomsday predictions, several families in our hall sold their houses so that they could live off the money and pioneer to the end. At least one of those families is no longer a witness family.
I was a kid at the time but I remember it vividly. It scared the hell out of me because I wasn't sure I was going to make it into the "New System" since I had a big stash of Playboy magazines hidden in the garage.
