  Honesty is not your strong card. I never "admonishe others to not speculate." I simply stated that none of us are in the position to answer the question, while offering my own opinion of the case qualified by the fact that at this time, I could not vote one way or the other.

  Misrepresenting my statements, and then attacking your own misrepresentations, is dishonest. I tend to avoid further discussion with dishonest individuals.

  As for your characterization of me as "pious," you are certainly entitled to your own opinion of me. Your decision to express it here does not support the bogus claims you have made about my posts.

  For a person who professes a background in law enforcement, it's rather surprising that you are ignorant of the definiition of "homicide." Homicide is defined as "[t]he killing of one human being by the act, procurement, or omission of another." BLACK'S LAW DICTIONARY 734 (6th Ed. 1990).

  Edited to add: Self defense and homicide are not mutually exclusive. Homicide is not necessarily illegal; in the case of legitimate self defense, it is legal. Another example of legal homicide would be executions. In this case, a homicide was definitely committed, despite your incorrect claims to the contrary.

  Try reading my comment again. I thought it was rather clear, but I will clarify it further for you. I stated that based on what I've seen so far, I think he's guilty of voluntary manslaughter, but that I could not convict or acquit him as a juror based on what I've seen because I haven't seen everything that the jury saw.

  This topic has 5 pages, but you might recall that the topic is "If you were on the Zimmerman jury, how would you vote?" I submit that no one here can answer that question, since none of us were in the courtroom watching the trial from the jury box, and also because juries are required to deliberate before rendering their verdict. The fact that none of us have deliberated with other jurors on this matter further supports the conclusion that it is impossible to answer this question in an accurate manner. The answers here are pure speculation.

  Unless you watched the entire trial, you have no basis to express an opinion on how you would have voted if you had been on the jury. From the evidence I am aware of, it looks like he's guily of voluntary manslaughter. But like everyone else here who hasn't seen the entire trial, I have no basis to express an opinoin as to how I would vote if I were on the Zimmerman jury. It is quite possible I would vote to acquit him if I heard all the evidence.

  i remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.

  i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.

  i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

  I haven't read all of her posts, but I have enjoyed reading the insight that Blondie provides on this forum.

  If you were genuinely concerned about Blondie, why not express your concerns to her in a private pm? Did you choose to make these public statements out of concern for Blondie, or because of your own personal issues?

  Post 6: My brother turns on me now - Possible Legal advice

  this is a letter i received today with my brother turning on me based on something that was told to him by my crazy mother.

  he works for me, yet has not spoken a word to me in months because he is a self-righteous little dick.. .

  what i would like to know from someone who knows the law, is it possible i can sue him if he pressures people to not work with me because of my religious beliefs????

  This forum is the wrong place to seek legal advice. You have not stated enough facts to support the giving of advice to you by any competent lawyer. Nevertheless, before you jump into the pool, know the temperature of the water. Litigation is a very costly means of resolving this problem. Even if you are successful and obtain a judgment, you will likely spend as much as $50,000 to get there. There are a lot of negative aspects to litigating with a family member. Among other things, you can expect that all of your family secrets may be exposed to the public. Got caught jerking off by your brother? etc.

  If you get a judgment, what are you going to do with it? Do you have the stomach to enforce it via the filing of a lien against your brother's property?

  Think very carefully before you jump into suing your brother. There are other ways to deal with this. For example:

  Let him know that if he doesn't stop trashing you to your employees, that you will bring this matter to the attention of the elders (ie., turn him in for gossip and slander).

  If that doesn't work, carry out the threat. When you speak to the elders, tell them you want it resolved or else you will take legal action against both your brother and the local congregation. That will get their attention.

  If all else fails, and he really is hurting your business enough to make paying the lawyers worth it, then sue him!

  Anyone else an Ex Bethel "volunteer"

  i was wondering if there were any other ex-bethelites on here.

  i personally regularly went for temporary work at brooklyn then was assigned to the farm for a year and a half.

  it was... one of the most bizaare experiences of my life.. so i wrote it all down (finally, after some 15 years) so i won't bore anyone on here with the details of the story - because bethel doesn't show up until chapter 15... and for you straight folks, it gets a bit gay in two places... but nothing gross.

  My time with the witnesses occurred during my childhood and ended in my early teens. I hated every minute of my time at the hall, and I can't imagine how anyone would volunteer to do anything extra for this publishing empire masquerading as a religion.
