I can't think of any good reason why the uncompensated marketing personnel of the Watchtower book publishing corporations are labeled "publishers" by said corporate management, instead of a label consistent with their reality, like "pigeons."

When approached by researchers, the elder should treat them kindly, and he may listen to what they have to say.
Soon, they'll introduce wireless devices, with real-time connection to the Watchtower, to provide guidance to elders as to whether or not they can listen to specific content provided by "worldly" folks.

WTBTS draged to the Supreme Court
by Gerard init seems that the original law suit took place on connecticut.
the plaintiff filed her original complaint in three counts "on march 25, 1998, including a third count of breach of contract.
that complaint alleged acts and omissions occurring from early 1976 to 1995.

The title to this thread is inaccurate as the Supreme Court did not grant a writ of certiorari (a decision to hear the case) within applicable time constraints. Accordingly, the Supreme Court did not ever hear this case, and the decision of the highest court to actually hear that matter will stand.

INCUBUS
by sistaintheback ini have been dealing with one for the past few years.
not constantly, but about once every three months.
for those that don't know, an incubus is a demonic presence that only bothers women when they sleep.

With all due respect to our friends who look to a material explanation for everything, there are such things as inncubus and succubus. Before my time in the borg, I was involved in what many call the occult and most of my family stayed invovled. So I can speak to the subject.
Being involved with a cult, or the occult, certainly does not make one an expert whose opinion on the veracity of folklore is worthy of any more merit than anyone else. In fact, one's involvement in cults, and even worse yet, the occult, is actually an indication that their assertions should be subjected to extreme scrutiny. If your attacks aren't like this, then the simpler explanation of night paralysis/terrors may be the direction to look and the advise of a medical professional sought. Remember Occam's Razor, unless there is good reason to conclude otherwise, first go with the simplest explanation. It will more likely be the one!
Funny how the "simplest explanation" suggested by this post is one that requires you to accept a bunch of unauthenticated assumptions, such as the validity of the bible as an explanation of human origin. The explanation is a medical/psychological one, notwithstanding the delusional beliefs of some to the contrary. Sista, seek help from a medical professional, not laypersons from this forum. Sleep apnea can be very dangerous, and even if it's something else, it's obviously worthy of a professional opinion. Good luck! -

Kay Kay: I think you're talking about "Wheelie," the Volkswagen that was the subject of the wrath of a gang of talking motorcyles, including "Chopper."
How about "Grape Ape" and his little dog friend, "Meagly Beagly?"

sistaintheback:
I agree with the others here that there is nothing supernatural about your experience. While I'm not a medical professional, it appears that your "incubus" is dream-related. With all due respect to your faith, I had nightmares for years as a child and young adult, many of which involved images I saw in the publications of the Watchtower Society, including those showing innocent people and animals being destroyed by the flood, the beast of revelation, etc.. These images were inappropriate for young children to view, yet the Watchtower chose to put them in books that were designed for children. I'm an old man now, but every now and then I still see some of those images that the Watchtower so lovingly exposed me to.

Questions No JW has answered
by 144001 inmany times i have asked my jw relatives questions that they've been unable to answer with anything other than, "good question, i'll get back to you on that.
" for some reason, they never actually do get back to me on them.
so, now here's the opportunity for the jehovah's witnesses and their supporters on this forum to either answer some of these questions or concede that they have no answer.

Hello Thinker, thanks for your input as well. I guess the faction rule is just another confusing aspect of the JW blood policy. Given the number of people who have died as a result of this policy, you'd think they'd try to at least be logically consistent in their rules and the theories they are based upon.
Garybuss: I hope that elder had a pair of depends to stay dry with.

Not Too Bad A Cult.... In Comparison To Others. Let's Talk About Cults.
by Doubtfully Yours ini saw an episode of a day talk show the other day in which they interviewed these two women that were part of a polygamous cult in utah.
the cult was referred to as 'the order'.. men married many young wives, and these were expected/forced to breed in large numbers.
these women worked for the cult.

Upside:
Didn't mean to convey hostility. DY has made plenty of good posts here.
DY: sorry if I offended you.

Doubtfully: What is the point of your thread? That folks should not think poorly of the JW cult because there are worse cults out there? OK, by the same logic, a family with kids should not have a problem with a child molestor living next door to them, since it could be worse; you could have a serial killer living next door.

Doubtfully:
The objective of this thread is to give those who are JWs and are questioning their faith a chance to see some additional questions that they might not have considered. By putting it in a public forum, open to debate by all sides, those JWs with questions they're afraid to ask at the Hall can at least have a chance to see a balanced debate on these issues. Unfortunately, the JWs have chosen to avoid my questions, consistent with their past practice. I'm not at all surprised. Blondie probably knows more about what the JWs purport to believe than 99% of those who call themselves JWs. Nevertheless, Blondie's answers, while responsive to the question, did not provide a logical basis for the belief, as I indicated in my response. That's probably because there is no logical basis for their beliefs.
