I stopped attending all meetings this summer. I prefer not to be dfed or to da myself. I just want to be inactive. I've been ignoring phone calls, texts and emails from members of the congregation, yet they continue nothing me and its really starting to stress me out! Is there anything I can do to stop them?

I have decided not to go back. I just need advise on how to Handel phone calls and visits from people in the congregation, and what to say to family members that are questioning why I have stopped attending. And also, I know what I'm doing is right for me, but I still feel extremely guilty about it all...

I know Steven bell...he's just a betholite that's been there for waaayyyy to long, thus his brain is mush and he is programmed to only talk about "Jehovah". I never thought him to be a bad guy, he's just brainwashed. As far as I know, he doesn't partake, so he won't be on gb. Unfortunatly, constant wt manipulation causes people to say non sense like this.

I was told by a family member the other day "if you want to leave Jehovah, go ahead. But don't think you'll ever be happy. ALL the people I know who have left got burned by the world and they come back to the truth". So I said "all the people? Can I have some names as examples?" Her response was "you don't know everyone that I know"...so anyway this post is the happiness/unhappiness thread, I'd like to hear your experiences and how fulfilled with your lives (or not) you are!

I feel so sorry for this couple. Just this morning my mom "warned" me "wordly" people are crazy, and that if things don't work out between my and my non witness boyfriend that he may kill me. I just read this article to her, she was shocked then said "this doesn't happen often in Jehovah's organization"...she forgot to take in account that yea we hear of tragic stories like this among non witnesses but there a billions of people in the world and only a small number of witnesses.

This is bothering me. My sisters father in law who was not a witness passed recently. I did not know him well and read his obituary online. He died at 68 but he lead a fairly nice life, helping others. He served in the military for two years, after that he went on to get a bachelors degree then a masters. Then he went to medical school. After completing his education, he worked at a hospital and then became a professor of medicine. He retired a few years ago but retirement was unfulfilling to him so he did some volunteer work in various countries. I told my sister that he seemed like a very nice man and he lived a good life, her response was "that just shows the brevity if life, and he is sleeping he will wake up and learn about Jehovah" wtf! Clearly all that he accomplished was not good enough in her eyes...all of his children are witnesses so I'm sure his memorial service will be done by an elder....the poor man, may he rest in peace...

The FIRST Memorial Ive missed in 41 years
by Londo111 inlast year, my last jw memorial, i listened to the talk as an outsider would.
the speaker strung unrelated texts together and for the first time, i saw that the interpretations made no sense.
afterward, i had a private memorial with homemade unleavened bread and wine with four people--three of whom partook.

Good for you, I'm all dressed and ready to go to the memorial (slightly drunk as I finished a bottle of wine with dinner)
