  Dumb question regarding the governing body...

  I remember when Gerrit Losch was appointed there was a question mark over his age as the 'ingathering' of the so called anointed was completed around 1935 or so (please correct me if I am wrong). I know the counter argument they use which allows for the fact that some so called anointed fall away and need to be replaced but I just think that it is cynical for them to believe that they are more important than every other human being.

  I think that perhaps the only anointing they have recieved is more than their fair share of delusion. Does anybody else here ever marvel, I mean really struggle to understand how anyone can continue to believe in these morons?

  Honestly, they must wake every morning and thank their lucky stars that they haven't been rumbled yet and marvel at peoples credulity. I really think that's why they have no respect for their members. Who of us would respect someone who believed every word we said even though we knew it to be false.

  Yes I do honestly believe that the GB don't really believe in the verbal diarrhoea that they spew out and they can't believe how lucky they are that people actually buy it. Basically they have carved out a very cushy and prominent life for themselves.

  Just remember that every comment on this site and others like it helps to expose these clowns and make their life harder!

  Great post Terry. I'm learning a lot on this site.

  I guess that they have to discourage higher education because at university you are taught critical analysis which can be very damaging to their false doctrines.

  That's not to say that people that haven't been to university won't see through their lies but are probably less likely to be critical of it.

  My wife (a former pioneer) decided to study latin and Greek for interest and so she could check what she was being taught. Well, she left the witnesses in what seemed like an awful rush. She now hates it and will not speak of it.

  'Apostates' being labelled 'mentally diseased'. Is discrimination against mentally disabled people by using it as a 'hate crime' term?

  sorry if i'm not expressing myself very well but i wasn't allowed an education due to wbt$ regulations.. what i'm trying to say is that the wbt$ using the term 'mentally diseased' as an insulting term against those fictitious 'apostates' they want everyone to 'hate', is surely very discriminatory against those that have a genuine mental illness.. it's like calling a white person that has caught a suntan the 'n' word isn't it?

  offensive, inappropriate and utterly destructive.. in the uk the press can be pretty sensitive about such name calling that implies that mental disease is somehow to be used as a hate crime word.. is it worth writing to the press to complain about such discrimination?.

  Well, name calling is invariably a sign of insecurity and a diminished self image.

  The Jehovah's resort to this dirty tactic every time. After all, they cannot rely on reason and a solid argument can they!

  some choose christianity, others flee christianity.

  some find they can't beieve in anything any more.

  Well, I reckon I just believe in what seems realistic and plausible. I'm not sure exactly where that leaves me and I don't feel any pressure or urgency to take on a belief system just for the sake of it.

  I don't believe in a god who would slaughter billions of people, I know that. I belive in freedom of speech, freedom of expression and the right to dispute something that is a complete nonsense.

  What good is punishment after you die?

  when your child disobeys, you punish him.

  simple answer: so he will listen next time and won't disobey again.. if the child has a learning disorder and is incapable of learning from the punishment, odds are you will stop punishing him and will deal with his condition in other ways.. we punish children in order to change their behavior.

  if the punishment does not promote a change in behavior the punishment is useless and possibly evil.. .

  my own analysis of its more blatantly farcical claims (including that of apostates being "mentally diseased") can be seen here.. what i really wanted to know is - what has the fallout been?

  has it created any horror-stories within people's families or homes, etc?

  It's funny how they have to label people as mentally diseased just because they choose to think for themselves!

  I suppose it's the most powerful weapon in their arsenal, creating labels for people.

  It's all myths and legends to me. I must admit that I do like to think that there is a creator but religion is a tree in which all the foulest birds of the earth have come to roost. If I remember correctly that is a quote from A Pilgrims Progress. In any case, I think that truer words were never spoken.

  I guess I just try not to confuse the God of creation or mother nature, whoever that may be, with the cruel and relentless god of the Watchtower followers.

  Someone needs to come down hard on these clowns!

  Love the Richard Dawkins quote, Shador. He lives just down the road from me. I know active Jehovah's who read his books.
