by Awen indear friends:.

Personally, I think that all spiritual experiences are a delusion of the mind. I do not mean this as an insult. I can relate to your examination of Christianity and you are quite correct in that it makes no sense at all. How could it ever make sense?
All that hatred and revenge in the bible goes against every kind of sense. If it's all true, then I'll be happy to be the first to go.

On the Ministry I once called on a very nice lady who had left the Plymouth Brethren to join the Baptist Church. She told me back then that I would make a good Christian as I was far too normal and open minded to be a JW. I took it as a compliment and I have to say, after a long conversation with her about cults and her struggle to escape from them, I never really viewed the Watchtower in the same way ever again.
Lady, if you're out there, I owe you a lot cos you got me thinking and sowed a seed in me that would come to provide a lucky escape.

He was VERY talented but I never understood why he was always grabbing his crotch and squeeling!
A sad loss which leaves people looking for someone to blame but maybe nobody is to blame.

Things that made you cringe at "the meetings"
by i_drank_the_wine ini always cringed so hard when a "brother" or "sister" would make some overly heartfelt comment about jehovah-something, usually related to a personal experience of theirs, and get all teared up and/or start crying.. once this fringe dude that's been df'd twice now was giving a talk and kept having these long awkward pauses where he looked like he was real stressed out, then he would start up again, stutter, slip up, and repeat the process until he looked down and went "i, i just can't do this" and walked off the stage and left the hall.. it also made my spchincter pucker when a young person would give some super devotional comment on how much they love big j and whatnot, which would make the congregation all smile in their hearts and wag their heads in approval..

All the Ministry School nonsense about being a good speaker and so on as if it justifies and gives credibility to the lies and deceptive nature of the message.

'We're Jehovah's Witnesses
We speak out in fearlessness
Ours is the God of true prophecy
What he foretells comes to be'
That song made my ears bleed every time. True prophecy indeed. Ha!

Well, let's hope not or we will have nothing to talk about and nothing to hate. Well, except Tony Blair of course and a few other particularly nasty individuals.

The Watchtower slams the Catholics, why not Islam?
by punkofnice ingiven that the wbt$ is always ready to insult the catholics and other religions why don't they slam islam in the same way?.
is it because it's not considered 'christian' or do they know that muslims won't take their insults?.
or do they and i just missed it?.
-
erbie
I have often thought about this and I came to the conclusion that it is because they see themselves as in direct competition with the Catholic Church and view them as enemies but see muslims as potential converts so try to stay on the right side of them. They are also extremely insecure about the Catholic faith because they know it is almost 2,000 years older than the Watchtower cult. Much older than they like to admit. That's my theory anyway.
This is the way they work and that won't change anytime soon.

All of you should start a splinter JW group..
by fortbethel inforgive me if this comes off as harsh,.
i've read & read many posts here mostly very negative.
alot of you have family that have shunned & continue to shun.

Bad idea. To follow one religion is to follow another. It's a lifestyle choice.
I'd rather go back to the Tower that join a splinter group.
