  my name is jaron, 19 years old, i'm from the netherlands, and in about a month i am going to start joining the jw's meetings and i'm kind of looking forward to become a jw.

  i can of course tell ya'll my entire spiritual story, but that would take an entire bookwork.

  in a nuttshell: my father is an ex-jw, my half-sis (from an earlier marriage from my dads) is one of those "special pioneers", and i am jewish (my mom is jewish).

  Please ignore 'a friend in need'. She is just here to 'put in her service time'. She claims to be an active JW but yet she hurls insults at posters who only ask her to quote the scriptual proof for the core doctrine of JW's - that being the authority of the Governing Body. Why not read the following thread, even though it is very long, it is worth the time and effort:

  If this FDS doctrine cannot be proven using scripture alone, then what right does the Governing Body have claiming to be 'God's Sole Channel on earth today'. Before you decide to join up with that religion, you should at least try to answer that question for yourself.

  my sister, shunned, moved into her first house she bought last week.

  gwen and i helped her and her husband and 4 kids (yikes!

  ) move their stuff from storage, and from my parents house.. .

  If the car was blocking the driveway enterance, why didn't you call the ticket cops and have THEM shove the car out your way? Besides the ofending party would have been taught an important lesson in NOT blocking a driveway!

  Going to my first meeting this morning

  hi there i'm new here, my name is fiona i am not yet a jw and have not started to study yet.

  i am very interested in doing so but since i am still new to all this i thought i should attend some meetings first.

  i am going to my first one today at the kelvin hall in glasgow, i am quite nervous as i do not know what to expect but also excited at the same time since it could be the beginning of a huge change in my life.

  Stumbled Across the Forum

  i stumbled across this forum today as i was looking for information online as it relates to johnny carson and the whole john denver thing that was spread around years ago.

  it's no surprise that i cant find a single thing on it on the web as i always thought it was an urban legend.

  just angers me that things like that spread around and so many people just accept it as truth because a brother or sister told it to them.

  my son has been studying the knowledge beek against her will and i cant change that at the moment but i thought it would be a good idea for him if i had other people who have had time to explore other religions who could tell us whats wrong or inaccurate with these chapters 1-4

  i never did become a jw but i did associate with them for a few years by attending meetings, going house to house, and all that fun stuff.

  anyway, i have so much in my mind that i cannot possibly say in one post.

  basically i saw/heard many things during my association with jw that i just didn't agree with or just made me wonder if they were truly teaching the "truth", which i have recently come to the conclusion that there is no truth.

  what if we all printed up some flyers advertising ..........seek the truth about the truth.go to jw.com for the answers to questions youv'e had or may have.read articles from the watchtower that the society hopes you will never find.. could we legaly put those on their windshields during a meeting?im sure we could do it at least once,and then if asked to leave comply with their wishes.its a well nown fact that out of 100 or 1000 or 100,000 that some will take the bait and check it out just due to human curiousity.. if we all started using the same informal preaching as them such as dropping flyers at laundry mats and phone booths and grociery stores etc you would think it would catch on.i havent counted all the members of this board and how many countries are represented but it sure looks like a lot to me.. what do you guys and gals think?..............ken

  Why not use the local church membership to help? This could be done in several ways. Contact a pastor to discuss with him/her your concerns to reach out to JW's, and to PREVENT others from becoming entrapped into this cult. Many pastors will share your same concern.
  
  One idea that I have always had is to train church members to begin to start 'studies' with unsuspecting JW's and slowly ask 'questions' that would wake up the JW.
  
  Maybe someone here would be interested in writing such a 'training manual' that could be used in that church's Sunday School program, evening 'small group study' or similiar study group.
  
  The training manual should include enough information to 'cult-proof' the people who will later become 'studies'. We would not want any of these 'studies' to become entrapped themselves.
