  They Came Back!

  i just thought that i'd inform the board that they decided to come back after all.. right now i have to do something so i'll fill in the details later tonight.. the guy dident come back though.

  it was only the lady and her daughter.. let me tell you, it was absolutely pointless.

  except for one thing.. they were surprised about the un thing, but other than that nothing mattered.

  Firstly, Jerome, that was WAY too many topics for just one hour! JW's always have a ready made answer for someone new. They get a lot of this "training" from their weekly service meeting. A "text" they like using is called "Reasoning from the Scriptures". Ask your girlfriend for a copy. It will help you prepare yourself for their "standard" replys.

  I studied with a JW for months trying to make an inpact, but all it got me was a "stopped study - for MY own good" - guess they thought that I was better off NOT knowing the "TRUTH"(tm), then knowing it and rejecting it.

  Don't give up - just go a bit slower. Stick to ONE topic each session.

  As for talking to your girlfriend's parents - I'd go REALLY slow with them. And DON'T tell them you will NEVER become a JW. They will force your girlfriend to cut off all ties with you.

  BTW - how old is your girlfriend?

  i got this in my e-mail today and have heard something about it in the past.

  does anyone know if this is really happening???.

  postage will go up the end of june 2002 from 34 cents to 37 cents.

  Have you also heard that:

  Macdonald's is going to start to collect a "tax" for every berger sold at Berger King?
  
  OR

  That Kmart is going to tax you for every item you buy at Target/Wal-mart?

  The reason being that Macdonalds and Kmart are losing revenue to their compitation!

  The above makes just about as much sense as the post office claiming they are going to charge for e-mail service which they don't even own!!

  well, we got a new digital camera and took it on our little jaunt to orlando, so i thought i'd share a few with you.. we went to this dinner theater where they dress up as knights and do the whole jousting and sword fighting thing.

  since we had two teenage boys with us...it was their idea of a fun evening.

  here's one of me and dana(she's the younger looking one) .

  Ask them to study the "Trinity booklet" with you. Tell them that you read it on the WT's Official Web Site and then begin to bring up all the half quotes that they have used. Tell them that you have looked up the source material using the library and have found these "mistakes". If you get them to study with you - you will have time to request this material from InterLibrary Loan service (known as I.L.L. Service to the libraians) and make your own copies. That way THEY are the ones who have to do the " 'splaining " to you.

  The reason that the pics won't show up here on this forum is that "geocities", where they are uploaded, will not allow any pics to be downloaded from their site onto another site. They did this to stop people from using their site for storage. Beck really did it right the first time, but geocities stoped the download.

  over at kent's cozy discussion forum, at http://kent.steinhaug.com/forum/showthread.php3?s=576c225fa464b8a850eaf84a8f511cad&threadid=62, redhorsewoman started a thread wherein she wanted comments about an old highschool classmate (also a jw) that she recently met again.. responding to her post, i said.

  too late for your situation, but i'd treat her as i've come to treat my jw family: leave religion, the truth, jehovah (and the rest of that jw baggage) out of all conversations... unless they bring it up.

  and even then, don't expect much.

  That is not true. Your post was deleted because it was UNDER another posting that got deleted. The Moddys had no choice - it was the boards software that caused you to be deleted - unlike Simon who can delete just one post. Any postings that were UNDER a deleted post also got wiped out when the top post was deleted. This was explained to you then, but you did not "get it" and you still don't.
