Perhaps someone can enumerate the "known" payouts and estimate the payouts that are unpublished.

True or False did the Watchtower Corporation create false doctrines intentionally to enhance the proliferation of their own publications ?
by Finkelstein inmuch as been revealed over the years to the date setting doctrines made by the wts.
such as ( 1874, 1914, 1925 , 1975 this generation, the last days, the end times etc.... which were not created by other christian based faiths.. as to critically examine why might reveal a hidden agenda to all these date setting proclamations.. the point in question is did the wts and its leaders intentionally manipulate or exploit the preaching of the gospel to enhance the proliferation of their own printed publications ?.
i would say convincingly yes, no question.

Perhaps the came upon the 1975 prophecy by accident, but once they realized the impact on the r&f, they rode this wave for as long as they could. The late 1960s were the pinnacle of the organization. They knew it and wanted to ride this as long as possible.

I bet this gravy-sweating, fat f*ck deep fried his hands before biting those nails.
I had no ideas that fingernails have such a high calorie count.

Side effect of Downsizing......$$$
by Tech49 inso here is a tidbit you will all just love!.
we all are hearing of the trend right now to ¨downsize¨ the congregations...ie... eliminate by combining, in order to blah blah blah... .
here is what you didnt know: every time a congregation is dissolved, for whatever reason, including merging or dispersing, wt makes money!

The GB should be teaching a finance strategy course. They have combined austerity (reducing expenses) with a revenue-generating strategy (selling excess real estate). This is Win-Win!
These people are financial geniuses. So, tell me who says the end of the organization is near?

You are a Jehovah’s Witness or you are nothing at all…
by silentbuddha inthis morning i got a call from a friend of mine who i was actually roommates with at bethel in the 1990’s.
he left that organization about 3 years ago.
he was crushed because it was the 10 year anniversary (for lack of a better term) of the day that his brother took his life after being disfellowshipped many moons ago and not being reinstated.

When a person learns the TTATT impacts the reaction. I cannot imagine learning TTATT at an age where there are few options. I suspect that if I was at the age I am now (60) when I learned the truth my reaction would be very different than what actually happened. I discovered that I was living a lie in my late 30s. It took 10 years to disengage from my cultish past.
I made decisions with the mindset of someone that had enough time to make significant life changes. I made very tough decisions - all of which I am happy with. However, I could never engage in the same strategy as a 60-year-old man. I really understand how some react to that moment when they learn TTATT.

In theory, can one be disfellowshipped for attempted suicide?
by Saename inso i was recently reading the reasons for disfellowshipping as listed in shepherd the flock of god.
the handbook is available online here: https://thetruthofjehowaswittness.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/jehovas-vitner.pdf.. on page 59, point #4, it lists attempted suicide as a reason for disfellowshipping.
has it ever been removed?

February 2018 Watchtower
by Listener innote the picture on the top right hand side.
the little boy in green is standing between the man's legs (jesus), face forward.
the picture is not appropriate at all and suggestive.

What can the leadership at Watchtower do to turn things around?
by UnshackleTheChains inlet's play devils advocate here.. put yourself in the governing body's shoes.
they are well aware of all the issues they are facing.
they know their numbers (they 'do the math' as they say in the us).

I believe there will be a total rebranding of the religion. But this rebranding can only take place after the likes of us are dead.

They have a two-pronged strategy - sustain assets and wait. If they wait 20-30 years they can re-emerge with a new message. No one who remembers the past will be alive.

Hugh Hefner died a few weeks back but no post on it. Interesting.
by Still Totally ADD ini bring this up because like me i sure many of the men who was kids in the wt cult got their first taste of what a nude women looked like.
it was the adolescent male sex education for most of us.
one friend i had who's dad was a elder told me they always had playboys in his house because his dad subscribed to them.

Sex isn’t “dirty,” but it is usually messy.
If it isn’t, you’re not doing it right!I guess that means I am doing it right.
