i've been shy my whole life, but during my teenage years and early 20s i managed to be more comfortable socializing and made many friends in different parts of my country (jws of course).

that was before i woke up, because i saw myself being a jw for the rest of my life and thus i made an effort to meet new jw friends.

however, after i woke up, i lost interest in meeting new people because knowing that when i leave they will be gone... feels like a total waste of time and energy.

The exact opposite occurred in my life. When I was a JW, I was highly embarrassed by my religion and funny beliefs that I inherited. So, I tended not to socialize with normal people. Now, I wear my exJW life as a badge. I love engaging with anyone about my past. I can tell stories that are funny, and others that are extremely sad.

Despite the 100 years of knocking on doors, the general population knows nothing about this religion. Our stories are enlightening and highly entertaining. Thus, I have become a very social creature. Stop on by, I will open a bottle of wine and we can tell some stories.

Wow, they are explicitly stating they have no liability or responsibility for the cart witnessing. They are shifting all responsibility and liability to the hapless r&f.

(perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).

with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

Masturbation is discussed by the organisation as if it's a young persons problem. But it's hard to imagine that someone like Sanderson who is single and in his 50s doesn't have a battle with this all the time. If the organisation was sincere about this issue the surely it would have been more appropriate for Sanderson to give the talk and he could have related, from personal experience, how he deals with the matter.

This may be a problem for their overlapping generation theory. If he is gone, they will probably have to change their "scriptural understanding." If the GB was smart they would encourage Sanderson to lose 50 pounds and to wack-off at least 3 times a week (which is probably already doing).

Pillowgate: a heterosexual male's review

my first impressions watching it, coming from a heterosexual male, was that it was just plain ridiculous (big surprise, i know), but i just want to share some thoughts as to why.. regarding the hypothetical scenario of two guys asking each other if they've ever woken up with an erection and other stuff like that: no, that would not arouse me.

i'm talking with a male, which i'm not sexually attracted to, and assuming he's a friend, it's just a casual conversation that i'm mature enough to handle.

the only way this is flirting (and then only maybe) is if one of us is gay.

I wonder if these talks give the Bethelites ideas that might to never have occurred.

For example, I was totally unaware that porn was a big thing on the internet (this was in the 90s), until a comment from an elder at a meeting suggested this was a problem. As soon as I cam home from the meeting I discovered internet porn. My life has never been the same since.
