  i saw a topic on another forum where a sister was supposedly carrying the mics.

  i was curious if this was even possible?

  Growing up a JW I was taught the many things that sisters could not do. I never understood this. The general question I always asked was "what is it about this job that requires a penis?" If a penis is not required, then there is no reason why a sister could not accomplish the task.

  hi guys, long time without paying a visit to this site.

  today i returned to check a 'gossip' that is running around in brazilian exjw forums.. they are stating that is almost certain they will make a big change in their doctrine maybe this year yet in the annual meeting.

  they say people in warwick were commenting on this.

  I doubt very much that they could replicate the hysteria of 1975. Too much has changed and too much information is available. If there is new light it will simply be abandoning older teachings. You are not going to see anything new from the current GB.

  Well, that was disgusting. How can he say that education is worthless? Don't they hire lawyers, engineers, and other professionals? These people received their skills through education.

  I feel very sorry for the young people in the organization. This must really suck for them.

  talking to my friend who's an elder, when i asked him did the leadership ever attempt to apologize for the 1975 prediction fiasco he said they did.

  and he was going to show me.

  eschatology for the 21st Century, so they're stuck with a decades-old, Cold-War-centric End-Times

  By using this passive language they failed to take responsibility. This sentence would actually mean something if it has started "The governing body regrets..."

  under the heading last days, the introduction promises this:.

  "the present wicked system of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the “great tribulation.”.

  will the "slave" explain to their followers that such an invaluable "witnessing tool" is no longer to be used, or will they just revise it electronically to reflect "current truth?

  I don't recall anyone ever using the publication at the doors in my history of preaching. Given the fact that is all the witnesses do now is stand next to a cart and playing candy crush, I suspect the answer is never.

  ... they've accepted me!

  finance is already sorted - they're waiting for me to give them my new student number so that they can start paying me.

  just need to formally accept bristol's offer and sort out accommodation.. accommodation should be ok - i've been told priority is given to new students, plus i'm enrolling onto a program for a real degree as a postgraduate - i won't be studying gender studies or some crap like that.

  a user over on the jwtalk forum recently shared a warning over his research on evolution in preparation for an assigned talk.

  after detailing a couple of the tidbits that he learned of during his research, he went on to say:.
